  1. That is one depressing quote for an Akron basketball fan. So KD wants me to lower my expectations?
  2. Not on the roster. April 5th Orlando Sentinal article: Avis Commack’s felony theft charge has been reduced to a misdemeanor, but he transferred to Akron after receiving his diploma. Good question for George.
  3. Good mechanics will take care of that, and that can be coached too...unless your name is Tebow.
  4. I'm hoping Pohl wins this battle. My QB needs a strong arm to be able to make all the throws, the rest can be coached.
  5. Considering our mascot, should it be "If a Kangaroo, Can Pull a Canoe, Hitch it To", nah, that needs work.
  6. Found this Rotoworld: NFL Network's Charley Casserly said on Path to the Draft Wednesday that North Alabama CB Janoris Jenkins is "50-50" to be drafted in the first round. Casserly noted that Jenkins has three documented arrests, and "I'm not sure I remember a first-round pick with that in his history." Our best guess is that the vast majority of teams will remove Jenkins from their first-round draft boards, but he'll be selected in the early to middle part of the second. Casserly did call Jenkins the best pure man corner in this year's draft. After listening to Casserly for years, it amazes me that he was a GM. I listen to Kirwan often, and I would give him the keys to my franchise in a heartbeat, I wouldn't trust Charley to change my oil in my car. I'm not saying he is right or wrong on Jenkins though.
  7. So Akron is built for the long run (with an inside game), but has never won an NCAA tourney game. OU is built for the short run (with three point shooting) and just won two straight tourney NCAA games. Got it. Looking forward to the long run. BTW What percentage of points did Akron score in the paint this season?
  8. Interesting read by Kevin Van Valkenburg. The mistrial of LeBron James One game in the life of the most confounding player of our time This story appears in the April 16, 2012 "One Day, One Game" issue of ESPN The Magazine.
  9. Full Story
  10. Does somebody actually own one of these? Take a look, did they just overprint the Dadgum! on top of an existing shirt, instead of creating new artwork? That would explain a little of the issue.
  11. I'm not wearing that thing. Looks like "yum" instead of "gum" too. For reference, here is the original post I would wear this one. Subtle, yet humorous. Although I like the color and graphic on the bookstore one better.
  12. GoZips dot com Announcement I still don't get the punctuation?
  13. I wonder what makes Marla write..."still in the running"?
  14. Isn't it fun to follow your favorite team in the local paper each day? I'm loving it. Doesn't even seem like a hard task, actually I bet it's fun talking to coach Bowden after practice.
  15. I appreciate the photos Karen Schiely took.
  16. Thanks for the response. I know you have stated that you haven't watched film on last season (a waste IMO), but you would see plenty of Moore's passes being batted down if you did. I would think at 6'4, DW should not suffer from the same inability. Good luck on the sleep.
  17. Thanks for the updates, love 'em. I don't have to ask, but who was the QB that was getting balls batted down at the line? The offense forced three turnovers, or defense? Offense committed turnovers.
  18. Source Tyrell Goodman, who signed with UA in February 2011 and grayshirted last year, worked out with the WRs today. He spent the previous six practices throwing with the QBs.
  19. Bad font choice. "!" ?
  20. This clip never gets old to me.
  21. Does Twitter have more useful sports information, or more misinformation on it?
  22. A couple years back when the wildcat was the flavor of the month in the NFL, a reporter asked coach Arians (Steelers OC at the time) if he was going to use Dennis Dixon in the wildcat formation. Coach Arians answered: "why, when we have faster more elusive players that can break tackles at other positions. There is only one guy that can run the wildcat in the NFL, and that's Ronnie Brown, end of story." I'll never understand why fans want their QB to run the ball.
  23. Coach Bowden has answered the recruiting question many times since he has been hired, there are lots of articles about it...and Hugo is correct.
  24. I'll go out on a limb and say with the recent news of a certain QB, the posts may subside.
