Just curious if you know this to be a fact or just think it might be.
Good question. Someone should ask the AD. We knew the facts about the rubber bowl since it was investigated and public knowledge that it wasn't financially possible. Would be nice to know about the JAR.
Thanks for posting zipboy, I always appreciate you giving a run down of Zips Live.
I'm interested to see Deiji play. From his youtube video he looks like he starts shooting the ball really low.
I'd bet most people who call themselves college basketball fans can't keep their attention on one of these game for more than 10 minutes. They really don't like them and the network has to switch to games to try to keep fans watching. They are a waste of time.
I wonder what the advertising dollar is for today's games? What viewing share will today draw? Think dollars and you will realize why there is more, rather than less. How many networks are involved now? Who is sponsoring?
NCAA Tournament Ratings Increase 24%
Television ratings for the first full day of the men’s college basketball tournament were the highest in two decades as CBS Sports and Turner Sports combined to air all 16 games in their entirety for the first time. The National Collegiate Athletic Association games on the CBS Corp. (CBS) network and Time Warner Inc. (TWX)’s TBS, TNT and truTV networks were seen in an average of 5.7 percent of households in the top 56 U.S. television markets, CBS and Turner said in a news release. That’s 24 percent higher than last year’s 4.6 major-market rating for the first Thursday of the tournament and the highest since 1991
CBS and Turner agreed in April on a 14-year, $10.8 billion contract for broadcast, Internet and wireless rights on the tournament, which this year expanded to 68 teams from 65.
I'm wondering if Quincy can't fill this role eventually. I noticed in the mac tournament when we had a last play possession at the end of a game. Dambrot called a clear out and left Q dribble the clock out and drive. I thought that was pretty telling for KD to have a sophomore try that. I also think that he has nice anticipation on defense, he seems to fill the passing lanes. I see some steal breakaways in his future.
VCU, BYU, Kansas, SDSU, Richmond, Butler, FSU in that order, fill in the rest however, and put Columbus St at the end.
Good tournament so far BTW. I love being able to watch EVERY game.
Homework assignment for someone. What teams originally brought Charlie in before the draft for workout/interview? I don't know the answer, I'm curious. When I asked an NFL coach one time why he would bring player A in when it was obvious to me they were not going to draft player A. His answer was, they building a folder for his up and coming free agency in case they have interest at that time.
Doesn't need deleted. Valid topic. Here is an example of searching (+tournament +ncaa +dambrot)
NIT Reality Check Some good opinions about this topic in that post.
I find it interesting to go back and read what my opinions and others were over time.
This seems to be a topic every year at this time, use the search button to read a lot of opinion on it.
My answer is still the same, I want to dance, every year, you never know when things fall your way.
I'm a big Diggs fan. Don't forget, Abreu can get penetration also. I'm hoping both AA & Diggs learn to use their penetration more effectively next season. Both are out of control at times. They have some nice passing options sometimes from their penetration and they are not using that to it's full potential just yet. Another year under their belt and they will be reacting better out there....I hope.
The last month has made me very excited for next season. Most excited I've been since the Ball & Bosley days. Should be some easy marketing next fall. I'll give out a freebee. Market Zeke heavy. Horizontal ads should have waste to head shot of Z with both arms spread across page palming basketballs. Vertical ads should have Zeke swatting some poor soul, possibly Hansbrough. Huge downtown or campus banner on a building of Zeke with arms crossed taken from ground up angle. Don't be afraid to market the Canton area. Start preparing today.
One of my thoughts during our rough stretch during the regular season was to let Zeke foul out early a few times. I'm sure KD thought of that and decided against it, but the thought occurred to me.
The announcing didn't bother me half as bad as the floor camera they would cut to once and a while. That camera sucked. It seemed like if the Zips were pushing the ball down the floor, they cut to that stupid floor camera. Then I got to see a good shot of Quincy's knee. That was my only problem with the game. The HD was awesome though.
