  1. He's trying to hide from you. ? He changed his number from 13 to 26 to 22 in less than two months. A few positive things I noticed from the game. • Everybody feels terrible about Warren Ball's injury, but just as the staff indicated before the year started, they are comfortable with the RB group. Van come in and run hard for 70 yards on 14 carries showing the ability to break tackles. Manny added 50 yards, and Deltron has nine carries under his belt this year and seems to have recovered from his shoulder issues. • Woodson seems to have shaken off the "rust" and is delivering the ball on time and with some zip. He even finally started running the ball when everybody collapses on the run up the middle. • I like the series that Kato got. I thought that was a good use of a QB that has different skills than your starter. Give the defense more to prepare for, while providing some experience. It was a well timed change. • I thought Kyle Ritz did an awesome job pulling, every time we run that play we got some nice success, hope to see more. • Austin Wolf gives our receiving corp the experience it needs. Without Wolf, it seemed our corp was out of position, with Wolf, I think everybody fits into their role. • Twenty-two different players contributed a tackle on defense in the game. Ulysees, Brian Bell, Deon'Tae Moore and Brennan Williams all had a tackle for loss. We are still not seeing enough QB pressure, but I think it was better in this game. • I always think it's nonsensical to look a month ahead of the schedule and start to mark wins and losses. There are three ways a team can go at this juncture of the season, get worse, stay the same, or get better. I think this team has the talent to get better. I think Chuck Amato's defenses have always gotten better by the end of the year. The staff indicated that the run game was ahead of the passing game at the beginning of the year, between Ball's injury and Woodson's progression from his injury, I think the two are getting closer, and we may see the offense progress as a result.
  2. In an interview after the game Kyron said something like " they run that play twice before, I recognized it, and was sitting on it." Coach Bowden called Kyron out in his show last week, and said he was the defensive back playing the best so far. Hard to argue.
  3. Deshaun Watson is better than even the Texans expected --by Michael David Smith On Sunday Watson was sensational, passing for 283 yards and four touchdowns, running for 24 yards and a touchdown, and leading Houston to a 57-14 win over Tennessee. Those 57 points were the most in Texans history and the most in any NFL game in five years. Watson became just the second rookie in NFL history with 250 pass yards, four passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown in a game. (The first was Hall of Famer Fran Tarkenton in 1961.) And Watson is now the only player in NFL history to put up seven passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns in the first four games of his rookie season. Vikings give Bears another reason to start Mitch Trubisky --by Steve Rosenbloom Kizer completed 16-of-34 passes for 118 yards and an interception before he was pulled in favor of Kevin Hogan. Then he calls out his offense: "In order to be successful in this league, it takes all 11 guys on one side of the ball working together to execute their job properly," Kizer said. "We were not able to do that across the board from the first snap." His eight interceptions lead the NFL after four games, as do his nine turnovers. Hue thinks Kizer played "lights out" against the Bungles. ? Edit: Trubisky will start next Monday
  4. Warren Ball's injury means he will finish the season with 332 yards rushing. Only nine members have a chance to win selecting Ball under 900 yards. Zips Wins - 2 Warren Ball rushing yards - 332 ? Reception Leaders - Tra’Von Chapman is leading with 22 receptions. (Coney-16 Kwad-14 Wolf-9.) Defensive sacks - 7
  5. ?? ?? Woot woot!
  6. Warren Ball's unfortunate injury produced no winners this week. Honorable mentions to the eleven members that picked Austin Wolf to have the most yardage, and the Zips to win.
  7. Warren Ball, broken ankle, done for the season.
  8. I agree with Urban.
  9. The one thing I know about watching the MAC for the last two plus decades, expect the unexpected. If you told me this time last year that our 2016 season would come down to Tyrell Goodman attempting 27 passes, and rushing 17 times against OU the last game of the year, I might think you were crazy.
  10. Team-by-Team Breakdown of Athlon's 2017 All-MAC Team
  11. Not that the Zips will lose, but like it always does in the MAC, it will come down to the November games. #MACtion
  12. BG fans rumbling for the ouster of second-year coach Mike Jinks. —EA of the PD The Falcons have lost to Michigan State, South Dakota, Northwestern and Middle Tennessee. They have failed to score 14 points in three of those four games. In a league where veteran quarterback play is considered an ace in the hole, the Zips have the most veteran quarterback in the league in three-year starter Tommy Woodson. But Woodson, returning from off-season shoulder surgery, has not stood above the pack.
  13. This Saturday 6 pm, WatchESPN. ?
  14. Good point. Thanks for the suggestion. ??
  15. The Zips face the #15 and #16 team with the most pass attempts in FBS, back to back (Troy/BG). ? donbest Darius Copeland Concussion "?" Saturday vs. Bowling Green Deon'Tae Moore Concussion "?" Saturday vs. Bowling Green Zach Guiser Concussion "?" Saturday vs. Bowling Green Cameron Jefferies Ankle doubtful Saturday vs. Akron Shannon SmithTargeting Suspension expected to miss 1st Half Saturday vs. Akron
  16. Okay, now you're just forcing me to be a fan.
  17. I can see where the ? goes on all four corners! ?
  18. @Dr Z @LZIp @K92 @Blue & Gold vote the exact same way this week!?! It HAS to be the Zips week. ? I expect the Akron secondary to have a few ints this week. Hopefully one goes to the house.
  19. • Austin Wolf had a cracked fibula at the beginning of the season. • Defensive player of the week, Shawn Featherstone stepped in for Zach Guiser and led the team with 11 tackles • Track star turned wideout, Kwadarrius Smith had his first one hundred yard game of his career. • Coach points out the tough schedule thus far should make this team better.
  20. Deshaun Watson: 64.2 Total QBR. Watson leads all quarterbacks in rushing, but he has improved his completion percentage and passing yardage in every game this season. With the Titans, Chiefs and Seahawks on the schedule for three of Houston's next four games, his continued improvement will be crucial to any postseason aspirations for the Texans. DeShone Kizer: 26.6 Total QBR. Kizer has the fourth-worst Total QBR this season, but there is some good news. Well, kind of. His QBR through three career starts is better than Brandon Weeden's and Johnny Manziel's, so that's good. The Bengals and Jets are up next for the Browns, so there's hope for improvement. source
  21. I'll guess this does little to fix the real issue. I fear the "haves" lose some coaches and end up taking good coaches from the "have nots", and weaken them even more.
  22. • Could of, would of, should of • We left too many points in the red zone • The ball slipped out of Woodsons hand because it was hot and sweat. • Never got a good explanation on the intentional grounding call. • Team got to visit Dexter Avenue Baptist Church and the Civil Right Memorial • Successful at 12 personnel with Booker/Newman, both are good blockers. • Guiser still dealing with concussion (he was knocked out) • Copland and Moore didn't play because they had concussion in practice. • Kyron Brown has been our best corner this year.
  23. MAC season is open, discuss your answers below. I'm expecting multiple ZipsNation winners this week. ??
