All are all from the Akron area, and went to high school together. Romeo & Dru had good success at the U, LBJ went pro. I'm shocked that anybody that is an Akron basketball fan hasn't seen 'More Than a Game.' LeBron used to attend a lot of his friends games at the JAR while they were playing. After you paste in the link you have to add a hard return, then it should appear. I think they look good.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer expects the Browns to take a quarterback at No. 2 overall. Beat writer Mary Kay Cabot expects the Browns to take a signal caller "unless something unforeseen happens in free agency" or a trade. As in, the team lands an acceptable starter. That's highly unlikely in this year's market. Cabot expects the Browns' choice to come down to North Dakota State's Carson Wentz or Cal's Jared Goff. All of this was said with the caveat that it remains very early in the process. Neither Wentz nor Goff are viewed as slam dunk top 10 picks at the moment. A "highly-respected personnel man" told the paper last month that the Browns should take Wentz.

There were four MAC invites to the "national" combine. Beavers, Willie OT Western Michigan Frazier, Kavon FS Central Michigan Lewis, Roger WR Bowling Green Russell, Alonzo WR Toledo

Zips pick up two more nationally televised games. More catching Zips fever?
-
Have the Zips ever averaged 11.5 or more three pointers made per game as far back as you can remember? I'm so excited to have something other than "defensive" basketball to talk about when it comes to the Zips, you have no idea. Defensive basketball bores me to tears. When it comes to college basketball, points entertain me. Drop the BOMBS!

Akron Zips (20-4) @ Northern Illinois Huskies (16-8). Game on ESPN3. ARC MADNESS: Three-Point Rate Is At An All-Time High, But Can A Team Dependent On The Deep Ball Win A Title? The Wofford Terriers set an NCAA Division I record by shooting 17-of-21 three-pointers Monday night.

A source tells 7 Eyewitness Sports Anchor Shawn Stepner Bearden has been banned after testing positive for marijuana. Bearden is the Bulls leading scorer, averaging 13.5 points per game.

What is the size limit for such an injury?

Putting the cart before the horse, I would be ecstatic to win one game. If we do get the MAC bid, I would be concerned with the strength of the opponent. I would guess it will be someone in the top 20. I would love to play someone outside the top 20, but I just don't see the MAC getting a decent seed if recent history is any indication. Hope I'm wrong. On the other hand, when your hitting 16 threes... Bombs away!

16 three pointers! Congratulations to those that answered correctly before the game started.

“I think in this case Scarborough is trying to strengthen the university, but it seems like he’s just going about it the wrong way …,” he said. “He’s very numbers-minded..."

You will like EA's new stab, as he now writes that Akron is running away with it.

Oddsshark predicting a 13 point waxing. 77-64.
-
The Zips are third in the country in 3 pointers made per game, averaging 11.3 per game.
-
Game is on ESPN3.

After more than 15 years of Super Bowl ads, Akron passes on spending $58,500. Kent State does not.

Defense still winning championships. GP1's rationalization would have been entertaining.

With our new upgrade, we will get minor "bug" upgrades more frequent. I assume this is a software bug. I will see if it has made their "bug" list yet. Thanks. -

Try it now, is this still the case? -
George Rusinko might have kicked a 35 yard field goal for Buckeye in 2013. Satchel Strahm might be from Carey Ohio. Abdoulie Jallow might have played soccer at Marygrove college. Braulio Garduno might be from Guajalajara. Clayton Uecker might have played QB for Ave Maria U last season. Mario McFarren might be from Dalton. Hakeem Wrimene is a track guy

There will be near ten quarterbacks drafted this year. If you had your choice who would you select, and why? You can't be wrong posting here. It's Mel Kiper's only job, and he is continually wrong...some how people still care what he has to say. Kiper “If [Clausen is] not a successful starting quarterback in the NFL, I’m done. That’s it. I’m out.” Kiper on JaMarcus Russell “Three years from now you could be looking at a guy that’s certainly one of the elite top five quarterbacks in this league… look out because the skill level he has is certainly John Elway-like.” “Akili Smith will be a great NFL player and would finally provide the Cincinnati Bengals with the passer they’d lacked since Boomer Esiason.” “Mark Sanchez is a hot guy right now because of the fact that he’s what you want in terms of accuracy. And that’s not just in the pocket, that’s not just when he has all day to throw. He can roll right, he can roll left and throw accurately.”

“My main focus this game is defense,” Cheatham said. “The last game, I was trying to score and we don’t need that. We’ve got other people to score. My main focus is defense.” This kind of team first attitude is great to hear.

Since I'm an Akron and MAC football fan, recruiting rankings and "stars" mean very little me. I watch improperly ranked MAC players on Saturdays in the fall like Antonio Brown, Khalil Mack and Jatavis Brown.
