Perhaps he was referring to OU's Gatorade? Dragging a sled can be a lot of work. Not too much though because the sleds are all undersized about 5'8" and 160-180lbs. At least they have great cover skills

What could have been done with you season ticket $

Now that is a great idea. Do you think Walmart would allow a group of us to meet in their parking lot during spring, summer, and fall months? -
Browns fans do it year in and year out, why can't Zips fans? And how's that worked out for Browns fans? Support your team win or lose. That is a true fan. I will support them. Just not with money.

Browns fans do it year in and year out, why can't Zips fans? I hope the sell 20,000 season ticket packages next year to help the program. I just will not be one of the suckers unless I am overwhelmed with football fervor next summer. I can’t account for my state of mind after 6 months without football.

I Voted for AMPI ... Did You?

He should win the best hair contest as well. -
Right on the money. Buy tickets only if the quality of play is adequate. I think we should all get a refund for the loss to GW.

+1, but I might give Matt a series or two to shake up the defense a little though. I've seen some teams win BCS Bowl games using two quarterbacks. Design a package for both and play to their strengths. Is that completely out of the question for some reason?

iCoach hasn't gotten a full chance. They didn't hire him for one year. Give him 3-5yrs and make a judgement then. We can all see we suck now. I agree with AkronAD. I hope none of you invest in stocks. This guy was fired in his first season at a new job as well. It is soccer related but everyone seems to love that silly game here. I don't think he should be fired this year or probably next (unless he loses to another FCS team). The third year is judgment time after each and every game. Excuse are excuses though and winning with somebody else’s players is a must in your first head coaching job. Maybe he should have made incremental changes to the schemes or maybe his balls to the walls tactic will pay off next year. Bottom line is we just don't know but it looks worse now than ever before. Not being competitive in the MAC has everything to do with his ability to get the team mentally and physically ready to play. Let me know when you see progress. I'll still be here because I am not a fair weather fan .

Being a "fair weather" fan and not wanting to waste money are two entirely different topics. I'll still watch the ZIPS on tv and purchase discounted single game tickets. I will consider buying all of the games upfront when the product is of consistently adequate quality. -
It's because I think we'll go 2-10. At this point, I don't know if we would win 2 games the rest of the way against a purely I-AA schedule. I guess that is pretty much what the MAC is, but still...WMU, Temple, Ball State, Miami, Buffalo? Any other year I'd say we should win 3 of 5, but not this season. The good part is that there won't be anyone at the final two home games to witness the debauchery. What are the chances that iCoach will resign? About the same as the odds are that you know the definition of debauchery.

I spent $505 on worthless tickets (Including $25 for the Can't Game but that is dirty money now)this year. Wow it hurts to even think about how I could have spent that hard earned money on other goods, service, or entertainment. Tack on the $50 for parking (1 tailgate too many in 34) and $30 or so dollars in concessions...CALCULATING...this season has cost me a grand total of $585 and about 8 Saturdays that I will never get back. I really hate when people say only true fans would keep throwing money at this crappy program. I have purchased season tickets every year since my graduation in 2006. I know, I know...some of you have been season ticket holders since before I was born and I commend you for your dedication. However, this thread is dedicated to how we plan to spend the same amount of money next year or how we should have spent it this year. I'll start with a mini-vacation. Wish number 1 Next year I would like to take a 4 day trip to the beach in North Carolina with my wife. It is about a 1,300 mile round trip drive to Emerald Isle GAS & Tolls: $106.00 FOOD & Beer: $60 a day or so for 2 people= $180 Lodging: Islander Condos $299 for three nights including tax Total of about $585...Watching (or not watching) three ZIPS games/ year on DVR PRICELESS I would also feel a whole lot better sitting on the beach than I do about this wasted season. Hell I bet that I could play a few rounds of golf too if tailgating food and drink were thrown in. Wish Number 2 I should have put it in my 401k. Hell, $585 dollars at 5% interest compounded annually over 35 years would yield $3,226.87 towards my happy retirement. Damn I could probably buy a month's worth of my medication in 2045 with that. Share your dreams

Don't go there man. I'm a big fan of this program, and do my best to support Zips athletics, but the reason I am a fan is that I'm looking to be entertained. There is absolutely nothing about this team that is entertaining. As a 25 year old recent law school school graduate who just got married and is still trying to find a job in one of the worst job markets in years, money is tight. I can't justify shelling out any amount of money on a product that has all the entertainment value of watching paint dry. If that means I'm not a "true fan" in your book then so be it. You are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine. I won't be wasting any more of my income on this team until I see some signs that we are putting an entertaining product on the field. +1 I have 4 tickets for this weekend's game and I can't even get my wife to go (biggest Akron fan I know and former zip athlete). I am not worried about the games selling out next year. I may buy 2 season tickets if I am football starved and yearning for action next spring. Either way I would rather not hear people lament buying season tickets after the first game of the 2011 season. I can't even give my tickets away. I have an employee that lives three blocks from campus and he won't even take free tickets for his kid's sake. It is pretty bad when I consider mailing tickets to TW to express my disappointment. I can't help but wonder how many years I would get at my job if I performed like RI. I know he is playing with another bosses players but that is part of life. Wouldn't it be great if you could have years to handpick you employees? His job is to be a leader of men and provide a master’s take on the game of football. I see a newbie making stupid mistake after stupid mistake and failing to lead anybody including the fans. Yes ,it is the coach's job to make the fans believe. He can make us believe by showing improvement on the field and avoiding all of the coach speak crap whenever interviewed. How many executives in this country make over $300,000 per year while only supervising a mixed staff of about 100 interns (players) and a shallow management structure? There is no excuse for losing bottom line. I have been opposed to cutting BCS schools off of the schedule in the past. I now however am starting to believe that having 3 BCS teams a year is not only a recipe for disaster and not fun to watch but can act as a smokescreen for crap teams and coaches. Scheduling some early games against teams from comparable conferences would act as an early measuring stick for all of the non BCS conference members. Of course some teams will continue to ring the register but what is there to gain? Build the program first by learning how to win and then think about bringing in more than 1 low level BCS team a year. Cut at least 1 BCS team and the FCS opponent off the schedule if possible. Play peers for the majority of the season.

Apparently law school was not the right path if he can't fund his own blog. Why pay for it yourself, if someone will pay it for you? That's just smart. Integrity. Apparenly the bloG comes with strings attached. He is not an Akron zips blogger he is an ABJ puppet? Isn't that what the conversation is all about? I think it is pretty unfair to question the guy's integrity. He's always been up front regarding funding of his blog. And I think he is typically been pretty objective in his opinions, maybe sometimes to his detriment. I agree that his last blog comes off like he wrote it with a gun to his head. But I don't think it is anything to get worked up about. I did think this passage was kind of a cheap shot: I guess iCoach has an "out" if recruiting doesn't go well this year...it was ZNO's fault. Maybe we should just all be sheep, and enjoy the abyss. Make everone happy. I am not questioning his integrity as an individual. He comes off as a good guy in fact I voted for him. But when it comes to Rasors edge...not too edgy as of late.

The fake FG is the Zip's best redzone play. RI is just setting future opponents up by kicking all of the time!

Great drive though it seems that OU has more than a few second stringers in the game. Nice to see some zips points anyways.

Good luck inding anyone here willing to drive to Indiana at this point much less pay Big 10 face value to see the crap that will undoubtedly be served by Icoach andthe Zips. OK--How about $60 for the pair? Bloomington is beautiful this time of year. People are complaining about $15-$25 to watch them at home. Good luck. Thanks for the price break though.

I noticed that as well though I am not all that concerned with AA and Burney in the backfield. I would like to see him get a few reps when we are up big at Can't

Being in fcs football has nothin to do with soccer and basketball. We would still be d1 in both.

I wouldn't even consider him. And it has more to do with my feelings I have about what he did and said during the time he was here. InTheZone...I don't dispute that you see some positives in the fact that he's done some good at a school that used to be bad. I get that. But, I was merely disputing the fact that you put him in a "took a bad program and made them a winner right away" category. I'll take your word for it that he's made them better than they were. But, I don't see a guy with an awful record at a DII school even remotely being considered for any higher level job, and certainly not a D-1A job. Is ITZ Paul winters

I can get you a couple of my season tickets. I won' be able to get anybody else to the game with me besides my wife. Even getting here there will be out of the question soon
