Yes...KD really loves that "hands in pocket" defense It's not always the coaches fault. Don't you think that maybe it's the players who are being lazy on defense? No, it can't be...it's got to be the coach that has taken Akron to four straight MAC championship games, right? Come on. I coach high school basketball, and I know that you can have the best scouting report and/or gameplan, and may not win or play well because ur players aren't playing to their full potential every given night whether you have them in for 5 minutes or 40 minutes. The coaches can't play, so of course, they get blamed for on court execution Seriously, name 5 coaches that you would rather have that are coaches in the MAC right now other than Dambrot. The rotation is a little different. But we don't know how they do in practice. Dambrot's job is to put the best "product" on the floor, not always the best players. So if a certain "product" doesn't work, then he needs to find a new "product". It's not as clear cut as we see it in games. You may all analyze Dambrot's every decision, but how many of you would do what he does on a daily basis? As a fan, we have every right to have our opinions, but I wouldn't have any other coach in the MAC than Dambrot leading the Zips. I can't say the same for our coach on the other side of the Stiles Fieldhouse...

I don't know enough about the MLS to be able to critique it. The thing that got me excited was Ampai to Seattle. I really have enjoyed watching Zakuani with Seattle. If he could team up with Ampai that would be awesome! I watched the draft last year, and Chivas picked Gavin one pick before Seattle...later on in the draft, Sigi Schmid came out and admitted that if Gavin was still there when they were picking, they would of taken Blair Gavin...

If my math is correct, there are 18 MLS teams now, and there are 4 rounds in the MLS SuperDraft. If 7 Akron players are taken, that means almost 10% of the names being called on January 13, 2011, wil be from the University of Akron. That's AWESOME

But just to let you know, the 4 biggest home crowds of the year for women's soccer was Can't State, Buffalo, Illinois State, and Ball State(DH with men's), with a combined aggregate score of 11-2...they were 1-4 in the other 5 home games on the year with an aggreagate score of 5-8. It's okay...I understand I'm one of the only few on this board that loves THE SPORT as one of my top two favorites(basketball is my love/passion). I know that all the rest of you are just along for the ride, and no matter what happens, I'll be there. You have to remember, this was only the 10th season of women's soccer. Think about how many years men's soccer has been around at Akron. Give it some time...Coach Pfau is trying to build a nice foundation for the program. He's doing well, and if you watched the video and actually went to a couple games(and easy to hear what he said since there's not many people that go to games), you would know that he likes to play the attractive style as well. But he has to get the players to execute that style. I think it's improving every year. This year the team had some injury issues(especially in that Toledo game thanks to the officials who didn;t do their jobs)... I love this sport, but most of all, I am a student of Akron and when I graduate from Akron, I will still come back to watch the great sport of futbol, whether is be men's OR women's... Seriously though, I just want to say that this isn't towards meatwad...It's towards everyone that is on the ZN.O board and ones that just read this board. He just brought it up and I know I'm bias being a high school girls basketball coach, but it's very difficult for me to see gender difference on deciding to go or not. When I decide to go watch, it's not "what gender is playing?" "it's what level and what sport is going on tonight?" That's just me and I know people are going to fire right back, and I'll take it...but I just want to tell meatwad that this isn't directed towards just him...

I thought to see what other MAC schools were reacting to the Zip's national championship on Sunday. I couldn't find anything on Eastern Michigan's site of mlive.com and ncabbs.com. If anyone else know another site for EMU, please post it. Of course, the only other one that didn't have from what I saw was Can't State. But I don't care about that school to the East, so I didn't search too deep to find anything. Well, i don't know if this was Ianello's doing, or athletic department flexing their power trip, but when the Rowdies were trying to line up for the Zips March on the tuesday game vs Michigan, when the staff said we can't line up until football practice was over because of "spying" on our great, at the time, 0-7 football team ....we had to wait in the grass on the other side of the street right in front of the fieldhouse...
