oops.... ....I was focused on just fall sports..

What's the second? 1. Men's Soccer 2. Football 3. Volleyball 4. Women's Soccer ??????????? So who's number 2 if volleyball surpasses football on "buzz"...women's soccer isn't there...not with more toledo fans there today, than rowdies and adults combined for the game today...and there was only like 20 Toledo fans...

Just an idea for what could happen tonight... We lose to USF 2-1, we go on the road and beat #4 UNC and #3 WF by combined score of 5-nil... We beat Cincinnati 1-0 on a poorly executed game, and we come back and beat #2 Tulsa 4-nil... We tie Oswho 2-2, and now our next opponent is FAU?
-
We're you there CK...with the way OSwho was playing, someone could of gotten severly hurt and hurt our chances... We did lay an egg last night...I'm not saying we didn't (i thought i did say we played sloppy), but to be honest, my 10 yeart old brother could of officiated better...I might just be really mad because the one line judge blew the rowdies a kiss after the game...and we had OSwho students walking past us saying that we played dirty...I'm just not going to back down... This will be a "wake-up" call for this team...it put a taste in their mouths that they haven't felt for a long time, and I'm sure that they'll be more focused this friday, than they were last night...

I used to officiate soccer games for a recreational league for 5 years(until college), and last night was one of the worse referee performances I have ever seen... I don't know how many people know this, but one of the line judges actually blew the AK-Rowdies a kiss after we were booing them...and they were clapping and shaking hands with a couple workers at OSU during halftime and overtime... Our sloppy play + OSwho's thugness(i would put above singletipsy) + referee's trying to keep OSwho in the game = a tie

As Porter said 3 weekends ago, "We're just scratching the surface with this team." I wonder how much of that surface we have digged through...

1) No one in college football goes 15/15 all the time.... 2) Of course it's Nicely's fault that the wide recievers can't catch with their hands 3) Do you really think "Rodgers"(not even Rogers like all of you have been saying...spell it right if you're going to argue) 4) It's Nicely's fault that he was playing against the starters and Rodgers was playing against the 4th strings of Kentucky... 5) AND IT'S DEFINITELY Nicely's fault that he played in a Spread system for 5 years(4 in HS and 1 in college(he could of been playing spread in middle school too) LET'S JUST ALL HAIL DOWN TO RODGERS AND MAKE HIM THE STAR OF AKRON!!!!!!!!! IF WE START HIM, WE'RE GOING TO GO 8-1 IN THE NEXT 9 GAMES AND WIN THE MAC!!!!!!! HE'S JUST THAT MUCH BETTER THAN NICELY!!!!!! LET'S PUT HIS IMAGE ON THE SIDE OF INFOCISION FOR ALL THE CITY TO SEE!!!!!!! THE NEW KING OF AKRON, RIGHT?!?!?! So let's all ride that Matt Rodgers bandwagon and derail Nicely's bandwagon... I'm not...Everyone's harping on Ianello and now on Nicely because that's the QB that Ianello has decided to start, right? so it must be a wrong decision since Ianello has no idea what he's doing, right? COME ON PEOPLE!!!!!! IT'S NOT LIKE WE WERE DOING ANYTHING THIS YEAR ANYWAYS!!!!!!! Everyone wanted to get rid of Brookhart ASAP and now everyone wants Ianello gone already So who's all going to Biden's rally this afternoon at Student Union since everyone isn't speaking rationally on here and probably democratic...but that's for somewhere else...JUST STOP PANICKING EVERYONE!!!!!!!!

here's an article and highlights from their last game vs. St. Louis(at Tulsa) http://www.tulsahurricane.com/sports/m-soc.../091710aab.html
-
wow...im currently watching the game on FSN Ohio...its not on the program guide, but it is on...one of my friends told me, and it is on...I'm watching it right now
-
So I'm hoping this means it'll be called "Akron (insert name here)" and not "Cleveland (insert name here)" ...i hope so...would that be awesome!!!!!!!

I agree with Zach...besides, with the Rowdies getting so much talk(SI article, Caleb talking about it,etc), the Rowdies need to do this...I rather spend 8 hours on a bus to watch a game that we should easily make a home field advantage with the numbers they're showing, then to watch a football team that probably can't even beat some of the cupcakes that Dambrot puts on his schedule year in and year out. Even if it's just one bus with all the loudest students, that still should be enough to make it our home field... I bet if it was the other way around, that the football team was ranked like Boise State, and soccer was average, and Can't actually had a soccer team, i bet the Rowdies would go to every single road game whether it was at KEntucky or Indiana the same day the soccer team plays Can't... Since I got all of that off my chest, I agree with Zach..even if I have to help with fundraising/advertising to help the Rowdies, I will...We have the #1 soccer team in the nation, it's time to show who the #1 student section in the nation is...

Final entry on that board for that thread: RE: GAME THREAD: Akron 5, UNC 4 - National Semi Game 2 - PKs -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nice run for men's soccer, I was calling for Elmar's head back in the 90s but he turned it around this decade. Reality is Akron will lose their coach next season to the MLS or a bigger school, then we'll have another shot. See you next year! haha, guess we dont have our coach now eh? I hate UNC. Believe it or not, I can find NO discussion of #2 North Carolina's battle with the nation's top-ranked college soccer power coming up in just three days at Chapel Hill. Or is it in Cary? I presume our fans know -- and may compete along with our team versus Tar Heel fans. If there ARE any real football fans in Tar Heel country, they're welcome to discuss the match, politely, here on Zipsnation.org. http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=78&f=3778&t=6292898

thanks...i kind of figured that...so i linked that...

2nd video on the page: http://www.woio.com/Global/category.asp?C=...mp;nav=menu68_4 my favorite lines are "Here in championship-starved Northeast Ohio, this team is your best shot." AND "last year wasn't just a feel good story, and this year there's only one goal worth shooting for." oh yeah...and

It depends on the situation. Yoram and Josh were most certainly not going to see any playing time in the near future. They were both on some sort of scholarship (of which there are a limited number in soccer). By transferring they gave us a chance to get players that can compete for playing time as opposed to having scholarship players on the bench. It was wrong of the Rowdies to chant at them. Don't get me wrong, I love the Rowdies and think most of their chants are awesome. I agree that this one was out of bounds. You reference to Dakotah is apples and oranges to this situation. I believed that Yoram would of had more playing time this year than last year...I do believe that Yoram played some minutes in the College Cup as well...I understand Josh would of never had a chance to get to play with Meves there, but to tell the AK-Rowdies not to give the other team problems is like telling a cat not go after a mouse/rat, or telling a dog not to go chasing a car or a person...you have to remember, they are still college students and could of done a lot worse to Yoram and Josh...
-
I heard it was just a rumor...I've seen her on campus in the past week, and it doesn't make much sense to walk-on at Toledo when you have AT LEAST a scholarship at Akron, if not, then a full ride... I was holding my breath too, but it looks like it's gonna be a very great year
-
I just wanted to say that before the game, most of the returning Rowdies were applauding Giffard when he was near near the berm...but I can't say the same for Yoram Mwila and Josh Pantazelos... Just think about it for other sports as well. Say Zeke Marshall starts over Dakotah Euton this year. We win the MAC. We make it to NCAA Tournament. Dakotah Euton transfers. Would you feel the same way about Dakotah that you're feeling about Yoram and Josh? It should be, or you're being hypocritical...
-
As long as it doesn't hurt our defense/ GK...it sounds good to me..
-
Yes...it might actually been a game changer...After Rachel Phillip had a 1 on 1 breakaway with the goalie left, and she accidentally dribbled it out of bounds 5 mins into the second half; the ball ended up on our defensive side a lot...and Jeny stopped a lot of close calls...Like you told me last night, 2 years ago that score qould be the other way around...Pfau is really turning things around...
-
I believe the hat trick happened to be 3 goals in a span of 3-4 minutes...
-
Does anyone else besides me think this is totally pathetic?
