  1. Good stuff, for sure. Dale's is next in my list to try. I didn't think I would, but I am digging the can. I didn't make it up to Willoughby Brewing's Oskar Blues tap takeover last week, but they had 'em all on draft.
  2. Yo, Akronnnnnnnn. Nice little assortment there. And no, I have never had the opportunity to sample anything from Russian River. Looks like you gave been making some sweet trades, you dirty dog. I am jealous. I picked up Founders Breakfast Stout and I really like it other than the lack of carbonation. It tastes great. I totally messed up though...My wife had to travel to Battle Creek on business 2 weeks ago and I forgot to have her look for the Kentucky and Canadian Breakfast Stouts. D'oh! I liked One Eye Jack and Gonzo. Especially Gonzo. You have impeccable taste, sir! P.S. Is the Pliny as good as advertised?
  3. No.
  4. I have a friend who is an Ohio grad who I run into on a pretty inconsistent basis. What had been VERY consistent was him sporting Ohio apparel every time I would see him lately. He had gotten very proud of his school since the NCAA tourney run. Ran into him today at the grocery store in his Ohio State hoodie. Needless to say, I had a field day.
  5. I feel your pain, SeeTee. I can't speak for anyone else, but a lot of my current frustration revolves around the Wagon Wheel game. In the 13 years before the Ianello debacle, Akron's record in the rivalry was 11-2. That kind of success against your rival certainly salved a Zip fan's otherwise chapped ass. Now we have lost two in a row and the prospects for a win may have never looked as dim as they do today. I look forward to the game all season long and after each week this year I found myself thinking "Wow, are we in trouble" instead of looking forward to a psychological season-saving win. It has really weighed on me this year. Perhaps I have placed too much emphasis on the game. Perhaps the 11-2 run placated me when it shouldn't have. Maybe the specter of losing 3 in a row isn't the disaster it feels like. My heart feels like this season has been a nine week slow motion train wreck that is going to finally make impact this Saturday and it really shouldn't feel like that because there have certainly been bright spots of happiness this year. I love ya, Zips!
  6. I had a birthday this week that just happened to coincide with Oskar Blues Ohio debut. These may be two of the best presents I ever received... Beer Advocate 95/100 Beer Advocate 90/90 Both of these will blow your mind that something this good pours from a can.
  7. What an absurd statement. Just because Central got a fluke win over a shitty Iowa team does not make them good. To suggest Akron was simply beaten by a better team is making an excuse for failure to win a legitimately winnable game. I am tired of excuses. At some point the players on the team need to sack up and refuse to lose. I love the Zips as much as anyone, but I am not making excuses for them any more. The Chippewas are a bad football team. Opportunity missed.
  8. Unbelievable finish in Oxford. What was Tettleton thinking? Hell, what was Solich thinking? Incredible stupidity.
  9. What's the over/under on Can't's rushing total next week?
  10. It is one thing to get beat by a better team and most of the time this year, the Zips have been up against a better team. I didn't think that would be the case today. The Ianello Zips should have won last year vs. CMU. CMU has not improved from last year. What's that say about the 2012 Zips? This is getting harder and harder to stomach, especially when you see the success in Portage county. Another year going into the Wagon Wheel game with absolutely no mojo, a disinterested fanbase and overall misery. Prove me wrong, Zips.
  11. Guess not.
  12. Can't scores another TD. Wow.
  13. Jamel Turner!!!!!!
  14. Wasted timeout. Again.
  15. Touchdown Zips! Let's beat these chumps!
  16. Thanks for trying to post up the pics, Jason. I don't know if you are on facebook, but it is really easy to upload your photos to your wall or into a folder and then just link them to your ZN.o post. Works best for me. Anyway, it is a shame to just leave the place to rot. Everything of collector value could have been removed and sold or given away. An opportunity was missed to make some Zips fans happy with some killer pieces to put in their man caves and some dollars could have been raised for a local charity. Sad.
  17. You should post some of your pics so that those who have not seen it in person can get some kind of an idea of how bad it is. I know I was shocked when I saw it back in August. I would like to have permission to go in there and scavenge signage and memorabilia before they decide to tear it down.
  18. I think I was mistaken.
  19. Propers to: ZipGrad01 & family for the fantastic pairing of the dessert and Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout. Also for the Chicken Tortilla Soup. JZ84 for the Blueberry Pancakes. Kathy for the Wedding Soup. ZipsWin! for the Apple Pie. GoZips19 for taking me with you. Rich & Heather for the 3 Philosophers. Mo for the mind blowing smoked pork. Mr. Getsy for the Old Grand Dad toast(s). Our tailgating crew may not be the biggest, but they are the greatest people to spend a Saturday with. Thanks to everybody involved. I know I probably missed a few deserving kudos, that someone else might be able to fill in for me. I am a little sad that we only have one more home game.

  21. Awfully quiet in here... Just wanted to extend the invite to anyone who might want to stop by lot 9 & say hi. The regular suspects are going to be arriving early to cook breakfast. I will be bringing a breakfast casserole that looks and smells awesome (Just took it out of the oven) & I am bringing several bombers to share. Go Zips!
  22. I thought that dude got reported to the proper authorities.
  23. I was not too concerned about recruiting, but this Deandre Adams twitter rumor (if true, I am very leery of believing it) has me worried.
