I am not buying any of this PW was Wistrcill's guy from the beginning bullshit. Winters was the coach of last resort. Narduzzi would have been hired in a New York minute if he wanted the job. If you think the DC at Michigan State can't get a better job than this one you are totally 100 percent delusional.

Another day another Tom Wistrcill botch job. Been to Detroit in the last 5 years? Shithole to the nth degree. G-mann, despite the positives you mention, the Akron job is indeed the worst job in FBS. The proof of this is that no coach wants to touch the job with a 39 and a half foot pole. The good aspects of the job don't outweigh working for an AD that has exhibited complete incompetence with the football program. Hopefully PW will take the job in spite of its grim reality.

I hope today is d-day. I hope we have a coach by tonight. I hope Loefler is legitimately interested in the job and that PW is willing to come here as well. It is my suspicion that everyone Akron has been in contact with up until this late hour has said "thanks, but no thanks". We will never know but that would be my bet. This is the worst FBS coaching job in America. Everyone on this board should be happy if either of these guys says yes. If they say no, we are toast.

I'm not sure what degree Brian earned last week, but it wasn't the degree he planned for. It's my understanding that he was unable to schedule some of the classes he needed for his actuary degree because they conflicted with football practice. If I am not badly mistaken, I believe he still wishes to become an actuary. I enjoyed watching Brian play for 3 years. I will miss him.

Brian recieved his bachelor's degree last Saturday.

One of the knocks I have read on PW is that there has been no interest in him from any other FBS programs. Same knock applies to Bowden.

At least that is what thought I read. I will have to go do some research now I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me for a second. Stoops. Yeah a name guy. Because of his brother. Some of you discount the job Winters has done at WSU, but want the total failure that is Mike Stoops? Overall record of 41-49. Best season was 8-5. A guy that was such an unacceptable train wreck that he was fired mid-season. Yeah. Let's get him.

Who was the only one to mention Narduzzi in the Wheel of Fortune thread? The idea that they would hire an only-recently-successful small college coach over a guy with Narduzzi's resume? That's laughable, and predictable. Add scary to the list too. Who says Narduzzi wants the job?

Skip, you keep pointing out Lake Erie College as a disqualifier for PW getting to the next level. Many naysayers could use the same argument with Eastern Michigan being a disqualifer for MAC coaches moving to the next level. Think about it. Boise State having some absolute cupcakes for half their schedule doesn't mean Chris Petersen isn't a good coach. Paul Winters is having great success this year against the very best of D-II.
