I feel like these are the best guards Akron has ever had. I'd love to see them finally make a tourney run. My only worry is they have the same major flaws still of every Zips team. Live and die by the 3, no true "star" and tendency to play down to their competition.

All of the shirts I have are very soft and print quality is flawless. Sometimes I get annoyed when screen printed shirts start to fade or crack. But, I've worn shirts from GV for the past 2 years and they are all still in near perfect condition.

GV Art + Design will be unvieling some new Zips gear next week as part of their College Collection. I own about 10 of their Cleveland shirts and they are all very comfortable. Even though they were a little late getting around to UA, I'm glad to see local companies doing stuff like this. Not just focusing all their attention on the school in Columbus.

Two redzone trips in a row and only threw the ball one time? Even after that play resulted in a penalty and first down they ran it 3 more times. Amazing.

Probably that or the Zips are running out of jerseys and Adidas stopped making that particular jersey style years ago. Hopefully a bowl game appearance forces the team to get some new jerseys, so we don't look like bums on national tv.

Anyone else notice that Pittman was wearing a different jersey than the rest of the team? It was a plain blue jersey with no striping. Unfortunate, that after 6 years they can't get quality uniforms for the entire team.

I think it's funny and okay to be confident. But something like that is a bit too cocky for a team that has never beaten a ranked team. Ever. Probably not a good idea to give the #11 team in the nation some extra motivation.

The site is an improvement and I like the sublimated tire tracks, but the Akron Zips looks really awkward. Generally it's never a good idea to use a logo as a read-through.

This would be an embarrassment. I have no interest watching pointless FCS football. People don't go to the games because the team sucks. It's that simple. Dropping to the minor leagues is basically giving up on the football program.

It would be nice to see a new logo and seal to replace what we have now. Use vegas gold/navy instead of yellow and create some sort of stylized A to use in academics. Now is the perfect time to streamline everything and create a cohesive brand between academics and athletics.

I feel like it will always be referred to as "Akron" or the slang term "Akron U." Regardless of what the FULL formal name is.

I'd be 100% against building anything that would be used by Can't State, Ohio State, etc. Even if it was an arena built to support a larger city or town, the fact that it would be used by a team I dislike, would make me oppose the plan. Have to think people in the Akron area would feel the same way. They see it as an Akron Zips arena and nothing more. Can't say I'd blame them.

In this day and age, I'm just glad the Zips didn't do anything ridiculous. You see crazy colored floors like black and purple, weird blue and red turf, courts that look like a beach, courts with gigantic logos, skylines, etc. They all look awful. Teams go to such great lengths to stand out it gets embarrassing. I wouldn't mind blue painted keys or baselines, but it seems they are keeping it simple.

I have a hard time adjusting to a new person coming in, with no previous ties to the university, and taking away part of our history. I'm not sure Dr. Scarborough would be too happy if someone demanded him to change his last name to something more prestigious sounding.

Wonder if they will eventually switch the logo at InfoCision to the "Z." Probably costly to make a change like that to artificial turf. Have to think that if the Zips played on natural grass the change would have been made already.

Wonder why he had to justify the use of Polytechnic if he didn't have any interest in changing the name???

Probably would have been more believable had he picked a school with a football team.

I like how athletics seems to be shifting towards use of the Z, as opposed to the A-kangaroo. It's simple, unique and looks cool.

I personally think UB's branding is dumb. The University of Akron sounds much better than The University of Ohio at Akron. If I were Keith Dambrot I would leave UA the first chance I got. It's obvious that the school is not putting the money needed into the basketball program. Other schools are moving up and building new arenas while UA is playing in a glorified HS gym and playing in one of the worst conferences. I love the Zips. But I hate the MAC and I hate the JAR. They are both embarrassing.
