Eastern Michigan, Kent and even Georgia Southern played WMU tougher than Akron did. It's embarrassing to get blown out by good MAC teams, let alone mediocre/bad ones like Toledo and Buffalo. Bowling Green only has 1 win all year and I wouldn't be shocked if we lost.

I'm thinking the Zips will go 7-4 heading into MAC play. Probably have losses to Creighton, Gonzaga and UCI. Then, add in one of those typical Zips head-scratching losses like Green Bay last season.

Is it possible to buy tickets for the student section? If you try to buy online, those sections are always grayed out. Not questioning what they said. Just seems odd that they could sell out a section they never sell tickets for.

They definitely seem to be pushing this game more than others. I just wonder how strong word of mouth is right now. When I was a student it seemed like the word of mouth was the strongest marketing tool. Everyone always talked about the next soccer game and we knew it was the place to be that night. No one ever used excuses of weather or timing. You scheduled around the games. Football never had that feel and sadly basketball didn't either. Maybe when Kent or OU came to town, but that's it.

Well I think there are a total of 42 seating sections at InfoCision. That's not including those club boxes. Maybe they sold out 5 of them? lol Either way 5-6 sections full seems normal.

I just don't get it. What the heck are people doing? This is a Division 1 FBS team (coming off a bowl win) with a winning record this season and people in Akron can't show up? It's embarrassing.

Hate to say it, but a sore Woodson is a better option than Chapman. He was brutal to watch against Kent State.

I think they only have blue and white pants. Too bad they can't wear these again: Although I understand it's pointless to buy throwback uniforms only to be worn for one game.

I think the problem with gold is that sometimes it doesn't translate well with fabrics. Some Pitt uniforms in the past have looked like a pale tan color. Some Notre Dame uniforms have looked like mustard. The key is finding a happy medium. I think the shade Michigan State used would look cool.

Amen! I'm actually shocked at how awesome the football team has looked this season. Those satin gold helmets last week looked awesome. Wonder if we'll ever see a return to gold basketball unis?

Strange. I have the Choice package as well, but CBS Sports is included. When I first signed up for DirecTV last year I didn't get it, but it seems like they added it (along with FS2 and SEC Network) and some other channels this fall. Might have something to do with my location (live in PA)?

Over the past few years I've had CBS Sports with TWC, Dish and now with DirecTV. All three were pretty standard packages if I remember correctly. I think you're correct in assuming most people have the channel but haven't realized it yet... It's not a bad channel, just doesn't have the app/streaming capabilities that ESPN has.

That makes sense. My issue is that I doubt we'll ever see Infocision filled again, let alone filled on a consistent basis. Even if the Zips can continue winning, people just don't get excited about the MAC opponents coming to town.

The MAC's problem is that there are way too many schools clustered together. Let's be honest, Akron isn't leaving anytime soon. So our best shot of improving our national stance is trying to make the MAC a better conference. Adding some schools with decent followings to expand our footprint would be a good start. NDSU, App State, MTSU, Marshall (sorry) would be a good start.

Getting rid of Bernie/Donovan calling the Browns games was the worst thing the Browns could do. Listening to Mike Patrick and Solomon Wilcots is unbearable. It almost seems like they do zero research before the games and just show up.

I thought the same thing until they showed a shot from the end zone camera. You could actually see both of his hands empty as he was falling back.

I noticed that too. I know he also does the Browns games, doubt he'd do a Marshall game the day before.
