Is it normal to travel on a game day like that? Seems like it would be smarter to fly to Buffalo on Friday and fly back on Saturday.

That would take us 19 years. We can enjoy this game for now. I'll bring up the "letdown" game and so on later.

Well I hate to day I told you so. As much as I love the Zips, I knew all along they would lose this one.

Well the Zips have to make a run in the second half if they want a chance. They are playing like a team down 30 right now. The ride was fun while it lasted.

I've been saying all season we won't make the NCAA tournament. The cover doesn't change my opinion really... I see the top-25 ranking as more of a curse than anything.

I honestly don't think this team has done anything to prove they are different than any previous Zips teams. Winning 12 MAC games? Beating a school from a major conference? Beat OhioU in Akron? Beat Can't? All Happened last year. We have 4 games left and can still finish with the same record in conference as last year. Yes 1-3 would be an awful finish, but it's happened before.

I wouldn't say there are many pessimists around here, mostly just me. It's just tough to think of a positive outcome since we haven't been able to beat OhioU away from Akron in quite some time.

Unfortunately I don't think the MAC has the potential to be a 2-bid league anytime soon. The Zips will always be a team that starts the season slow, and loses a handful of games they shouldn't. Bad losses and a weak schedule end most of our seasons in disappointment. We are the best team in the MAC, but anything can happen in the tournament. Right now there are 12 teams in the MAC that all have the same likelihood of making the NCAA tournament. If they want to avoid it next season they need to start strong.

They hate us much more than we hate them. Akron-Can't will always be the biggest rivalry in the MAC. When I was at UA a few years ago, no one really cared about OhioU. To us it was just another MAC game, which is really my feeling still.

No there is one clown in particular (probably you) who has been trashing Akron for about a month. Akron fans didn't start tweeting anything until after the OhioU dude called out Walsh.

OhioU shot 6-24. Honestly I would have rather seen them shoot lights out, then go cold against us. Don't think they can shoot that poorly two games in a row, since that's their game...shoot.

I agree. I think his success early at UA was a result of the Joyce and Travis class and it helped build a successful program. It would be tough to get recruits to a school with a dying athletic program like Duquesne.

Wonder how bitter the Duquesne fans are now? They've won 8 games all year, and only 1 in the conference.

I think they'll beat Belmont tonight. We already have a 1st round bye in the MAC and not getting an at-large bid. So this game doesn't carry much weight to me.

I've always thought the O-H-I-O chant is uncreative and ironic. What happens when OhioU comes to town? Do they realize they are cheering for the opponent? Do they still have the band do the lame cursive Ohio on the field? My guess is the arrogant view from OSU fans and fake students is that MAC schools "aren't a real school" and "don't matter".

Keep Tressel employed at UA for the next few years until his coaching suspension is lifted. Then hire him as the head coach. By then two things could happen 1) we suffer through more 1-win seasons and Bowden gets replaced 2) Less likely scenario, we improve as a program and Bowden moves on to a better gig. Either way I don't think Terry will be around for more than 4 years. Which I believe is the duration of Tressel's suspension? Winning coaches move on, losing coaches get let go.

Not sure if this has been posted yet. The Lady Zips are visiting BG on Wednesday, and the BG coach's last name is Roos. Not creative and not funny. An obvious jab at Akron while trying to promote their coach.
