I believe it is actually. I remember reading about them paying other MAC schools (maybe Buffalo) to come there in the past, thought it obviously isn’t really comparing to the other ones.

Come on. This staff had coaches leave for better programs/promotions to Tulsa, Buffalo,Troy, South Alabama, the LA Rams, the Denver Broncos, the Green Bay Packers, and Michigan State. Clearly all of these programs and franchises didn’t see them as a joke or underqualified.

Seeing multiple media folk on Twitter say firing Arth was premature, especially how the team has played the last 2 games. Pressures on, Guthrie.

and Mathison and Mumpfield and likely Norrils. I'll definitely be evaluating the coach right away based on the amount of building blocks on this team he's able to retain.

What are you even talking about? 1) Arth recruited Mumpfield and has started him all year as a true freshman 2) He is the leading WR on the team.

Feeney in my mind is definitely this staff's "Milwee". The offense progressed fine enough under Arth's tenure, most things considered. The defense likely has regressed. Zips are competing well, just are too young/don't have the horses to beat the Broncos it appears.

It annoyed me how the announcers kept using OSU acclimating new players as an excuse for the game being so close. Like we aren’t doing the same..

My experience is anecdotal, but I agree that CFB seems to be an afterthought in PA compared to watching the yinzers on Sunday. I grew up an OSU fan, but watching them to me isn’t that fun. You’re expected to win 10/12ish games by 4 scores and if you don’t it’s a disappointment. What’s the fun in easy, predictable games?

The more I think about it, the more I think you have a point. Akron isn’t some preppy Catholic school…Notre Dame, John Carroll, or whatever it may be thats similar.

Outside of 2018, Syracuse has been a failure..but it’s also Syracuse. He showed how good he could be in the MAC at BG, and his disciple (Sean Lewis) is doing well at Kent. I could go either way on him, but he’s a known commodity whose had success in our conference. The more I think about it, it might be our best low risk, high reward type of hire. plus. If he’s fired, he can likely bring at least a handful of his 2022 recruits and players with him, which should be a nice foundation to start with.

Speaking of him, I noticed he’s the Big Sky commissioner not too long ago.
