Previous two secondary coaches: Jamael Lett - offered ST Coordinator/defensive assistant position by South Alabama. Jonathan Cooley hired by LA Rams as defensive assistant. Clearly their peers do not seem them as inadequate. The evidence will be pretty clear when we see him play this season, however. By the way, got a link to Abraham Alce's college stats since he's left Akron?

Tough to find too much out there, but looking at his twitter, had an offer from FIU and some FCS teams from JUCO. A couple more FBS offers coming out of HS.

The truth is likely right in the middle. Staff doing what they can, but hamstrung by limited resources would be my best guess. It doesn't matter who we have as HC if we can't afford to keep up with our peers on a assistant coach salaries!

Not only was he a P5 player, he had offers from Bama, Clemson, Oregon, Auburn, etc. Really is an impressive offer list. Taggart recruited him and was fired after his first year. I also read he dealt with an injury as well. We all know based on our experience with Arth how new regimes can prefer their players over the prior staff's. 2 years in premiere program with 4 years of eligibility left. I definitely think there is a chance he could be a big steal, but at minimum it should be a marginal upgrade in talent which is obviously needed.

Arena league is littered with FCS, D2, and D3 players. Of course there are players that could.

The Cowboys drafted two talented LBs, so that'll hurt Justin March's chances to make the team I'd think. The Browns drafted Anthony Schwartz. Not sure how they plan to use him in the return game, buts clear he has that gadget aspect of his game from his film at Auburn, so Jojo's days are probably numbered. Very soon we may only have UGIII in the NFL, and that may not even be a lock.

Not even sure who could be a candidate. I believe all of our scholly seniors from last season are either coming back or transferred.
