Don't we all.....though when I think of that year I also think of us owning OU in the MAC-C with Harney starting at PG. That makes me feel a little better.

Weekend of 11/15 - 11/17 looks to be a big weekend for recruiting. Luckily, our game is on the 12th.

Incorrect. Bowden went 1-11 his first season. There was zero chance to become bowl eligible after the 7th game. Bowden started off his second season 2-7, before winning the last 3. We were eliminated at this point then as well.

I was watching the SMU/Memphis game the other night and the announcers mentioned that SMU had 30 something transfers on their roster. Something Bowden did do well early on in his tenure is supplement the roster with transfers. I don't know how fair of a shot Arth had last year, but I really think he needs to make a conscious effort to get players in here that can play right away, and be plus players. OL, DL, DB, RB, and QB could all use some immediate help unless we get lucky and some of these young players really take a jump next season.

My thought is, if he was good enough to play before (which I believe he was), why wasn't he playing? Putting players in who won't be here next year at this point in the season is not a good look for the staff either way you look at it, IMO.

What is the thought process behind putting James King out there right now? R-Sr who has not played all year (yet was able to get on the field with the previous coaching staff). Stick with who has played all year or put young guys out there. I don't get it.

This season is what it is. Unsure why we have to have this constant crap every week. Considering the original poster, not sure why I am wasting my time saying this, but hope we can see some encouraging signs out of young players as the season winds down, the staff is able to plug holes via JUCO/transfer portal, and shows the ability to learn from their mistakes. Next year they aren't going to get as much benefit of the doubt. Somewhere between 0-12 and 2-10 won't cut it. Need to see real progress.

A bit of positivity - there are a few players missing, so who knows how they will be ranked by 247, and whatever your opinion is on rankings, for whatever reason, they seem to generally correlate with who the top teams in the conference are. With that said, we are currently ranked 10th in MAC (above Ohio and Buffalo) in cumulative team score. That ranking is driven by the individual ranking of players as well as the number of players in the class. Only looking at the ranking of players, we have the second highest average in the conference at 82.7 behind Toledo's 83.17 and just above Ohio's 82.59. Let's hope the staff can finish filling the class as good as they started it and that should be a good sign down the road....

Doesn't seem to be an official offer out there, but his tweets pop up on my timeline all the time with members of the current staff liking his tweets. That would indicate to me that we are recruiting him and its likely something is coming soon. However, we also have Bulley and possibly Childs committed as a RB already right now.

So you mention the university being strapped for cash in one breath and call for the firing of the coach in another? Seems like doubling down on the issue to me.

I sure hope it works out with Dawson. Have to this his grades kept a number of schools away. Also getting his eligibility clock starting a year later is good for development as well.

Check my post history bud. I gave Bowden much more benefit of the doubt than most posters. The difference between you and I is that I've moved on because there is nothing I can do about it. Also, the decision to fire him or keep him could have easily been argued either way. It wasn't like he clearly should have been kept or something like that.

Last I checked, UMASS got their first ever FBS win against a Terry Bowden led Akron.
