  1. @Illinois - L. Definitely a winnable game, but I think the Illini will be just a bit too much for the new look Zips. vs. UAB - W. I admittedly could be a little bit ignorant here, but IIRC, UAB lost a lost from their talented team last season. Being that its so soon since they've been back, I'm not sure they have equal replacement level-depth waiting to take over. @ C. Michigan - W. New high-profile coach, but they went 1-11 last year. No need to say more. vs. Troy L.. They lost their coach to WVU, but Troy is a consistent Sun Belt contender. @ UMass W. Its UMASS. vs. Kent W. Its Kent. vs. Buffalo W. Buffalo lost a lot. Not sure they have the depth to not have a decent drop off. @ N. Illinois L. @ BGSU W. Should not have lost to them last year, vs. E. Michigan L. @ Miami L vs Ohio W. Screw Ohio. I consider us retooling rather than rebuilding. We return a lot of younger talent who I have faith in and only won 4 games last year. I'll be disappointed if that isn't exceeded in Arth's first season. 1. 7-5 2. Kato. 3. Alvin Davis. 4. Tides are going to turn to the East this year and I think Chucky Martin or Solich (Rourke's senior year) finally get over the hump.
  2. I have confidence in both Lubin and Riley, but they've each got very little experience. They could both end up being great players, but banking on them is pretty risky, IMO. With our depth of safeties (Davis, Featherstone, Hooks, Jacobs, Hall, Adetutu, and incoming Corey Thomas), I wonder if they don't look at moving one of them to CB at least for this year. I wouldn't mind one of our extra schollies going to a grad transfer CB to add some depth at the position. With what we have coming back and the recruiting class, I don't think I'm too worried about the front 7 and def not worried about the safeties. I expect the offense to take a big step forward. Our OL has another year experience and is healthy and some of our younger players who weren't ready last year should be ready now (RJ Kelly, Fonte, Devin Jordan).
  3. Negative ghostrider. Our basketball team is not very good or interesting this year. I do concur that I am still more focused on football though.
  4. Glad I missed this one. Downright embarrassing. I might have to miss the rest of the season too. Getting slaughtered by the worst or 2nd worst team in the conference is inexcusable.
  5. Utomi didn't even try to contest traitor graves on that fast break.
  6. flop by perkins there.
  7. some seriously weak calls.
  8. Would be ideal to see Ivey heat up some here in the last 1/4th of the game.
  9. He's been awful a lot of the season outside a double digit game here or there in OOC.
  10. Traitor Graves is a player I like to despise. Two more years of him.
  11. Buffalo getting some home cookin calls now! That was a clean block by Riak!
  12. There isn't.
  13. A lot of recruits on campus yesterday. Still waiting for that first commit to kick off the 2020 class though, as far as I can tell. Am a fan of this new regime's activity on the recruiting trail.
  14. Looks like we have found the replacement based on what I'm putting together on twitter. Former Toledo assistant and Iowa St WR coach Bryan Gasser. Looks like his contract wasn't renewed this offseason. ISU has had some pretty good WRs the past 2 years with Lazard and Hakeem Butler. Any input @Cykron ? http://www.iowastatedaily.com/sports/gridiron/campbell-announces-manning-hire-other-changes-gasser-gordon-scheelhaase-caponi/article_153ba628-1b5d-11e9-b304-f3ec048d8b46.html
  15. While not "we", it was sold out for Lebron's homecoming and pretty dang packed for the Browns scrimmage with Money Manziel a few years ago.
  16. That's the spirit!
  17. #5 on the list is still a tough one for me to swallow. Just made no sense from the outside looking in.
  18. very pumped we are getting Kent at home on a Saturday before MACtion starts before weather is shitty.
  19. No need to be a prick to @Let'sGoZips94 I get what he's saying. It's hard to comprehend that somebody would just walk up to somebody and beat them unconscious for no reason whatsoever. That's a perfectly logical thought process and, in my opinion (maybe im misinterpreting), is not blaming K-Lac for anything. We see players "get into it" all the time. Like Cheese and Graves getting in each other's face at the Buffalo game. Nobody at fault, its part of the game. Of course it certainly doesn't warrant being beaten unconscious or any punched thrown at all. If truly "unprovoked", Gueye has some real issues. I feel bad for K-Lac regardless of the situation. Seems like a good kid who I still feel had potential. Writing off somebody after their freshman season, like many on this board did, isn't fair.
  20. Well we play Detroit, CSU, and YSU pretty regularly.
  21. Seems like Ball State has some really good, unbiased, commentators.
  22. pretty bad late call on Ivey there.
  23. Utomi bringing it today! Liked Poke's energy in the 1st half. Not pleased with Jackson's play on either end today. Nice to see Riak go for a dunk (even though he missed) and nice to see Banks get a few buckets. He's been COOOOLDD.
