UGIII looked really good last night. He got in on D about mid 3rd quarter until the end of the game. INT at the goal line on a 2pt conversion, strip sack, and another sack. Another QB pressure/hit as well. I must've missed the 2nd sack. Not a single "negative" play (missed tackle, beat in coverage, etc). Pretty pumped for him.. I also didn't see MAC DPOY Sutton Smith on the field at all.

Good for him. If Groce can't get it together, he'll have a few years of experience and could be a serious candidate. Smart hire by their new HC.

I didn't go one by one down the list, but I believe all of our signees actually made it to campus. How refreshing! For sake of discussion: 1) What freshman will be the biggest contributor this year? Hayes-Patrick seems like an easy choice, but some of the DBs are starting off strong as well, like Cochran and McDonald and I believe there is some opportunity there. 2) What new member of the team will be the biggest contributor (including fresh, JUCO, transfer, etc)? 3) Returning player who takes the biggest step forward on offense and defense under the new coaching staff?

Our roster is updated with the JUCO newcomers. Cross and Mitchell from Indy CC. Harris who we've seen some of on twitter. A new one is DeCavilon Reese, a RB from Benedictine. Originally had offers to Marshall, Toledo, and Miami (OH) out of HS.

Obv a degree from Akron is nothing to write home about, but my degree has done me very well. Then again, I chose a major that has some demand, so your mileage may vary.

Agree with you here..Cheese or LCJ. Cheese finished the season strong and if LCJ can put it together on a more consistent basis, he could be that guy as well. Xeryius would be my sleeper to throw in.

Initial thought - I'd be in favor of adding UCONN (and even UMASS) for football only, but they need to bring something to us. Guaranteed scheduling of MAC opponents in OOC basketball (both men's and women's) that includes games at MAC sites. Something like 3/year with match-ups dependent upon conference preseason top 3 picks or something along those lines.

If I were a betting man, I think we'll get a commit from this player this weekend on his official visit. Curious to what we are recruiting him as. He is listed as an OLB on 247, but all of his hudl film is on offense.
