  1. Right. Give us this Hilltopper - past UA coach, player, or old "name" that has no prior relation to UA?
  2. We have 3 transfers who will be eligible next season, ideally 2 players who were injured most of the year back, and still have, at minimum, 2 scholarships open. Infusion of talent is coming.
  3. Wow. That's the team that smoked us in the NIT in '17, right?
  4. Not sure if this is someone to keep an eye on or not. http://verbalcommits.com/players/te-jon-lucas
  5. We did?!? I only remember Malcolm and Smith. Did we do something similar with Treadwell and Harney being that they were non-qualifiers? I don't remember. Ivey is a greyshirt, IIRC...I believe due to being a qualifier out of HS. I think they key would be, if he were looking to transfer, is whether or not he will graduate. Let's hope he stays regardless...I don't know why he wouldn't be excited about next season.
  6. It would be news to me if there was a single high school, collegiate (well maybe not counting Oberlin), or professional team who did not have some sort of prayer before and/or after games. The essential gist for those of you who may not know, at least in my experience, is "thank you God for looking over our teammates and keeping us safe. Please look over x player who was injured." I certainly wouldn't consider it preaching/pushing religious beliefs upon people. If participating offends you that much? Don't bow your head. Just like you'd do in a wedding or a funeral or whatever else it may come up. I agree with you that it *could* create problems, because this is America in 2018 and everybody has to be offended over something, but I've never heard of anyone creating a stink over it.
  7. FWIW, I'm not bashing anyone who also roots for OSU (assuming Akron is #1). I get it. I still do, though they are a very distant 2nd and I seemingly care less about them as each year passes. It's kind of boring expecting to win every game and only having 2-3 tough games a year with most others over by half-time honestly.
  8. IDK where else to put this...but I thought it was odd. I don't think I've heard of an eligibility situation like this before. Good luck LaVonne.
  9. FYI - this article is from last year
  10. Man...even as a Zips fan, shame on you, kind of. We deal with something similar with OSU. Many students grow up OSU fans (including myself) and continue to root for them even after attending/graduating from UA, and even against UA. . Though I guess it isn't completely apples to apples as ISU does not have a FBS football program. I say you should root for ISU vs us.
  11. Woops! Thanks for the clarification. I was all sorts of lost lol. Can't blame me though will all the Hurley/Buffalo talk.
  12. Pi$$ on Bobby Hurley. I did not realize Pitt made that crazy of an offer to him, though. Wonder why he chose ASU over them, then?
  13. Pitt is stupid then. Probably explains why they're a joke now. Oats is already more accomplished than Hurley ever was at Buffalo. 2 MAC titles in 3 years and a tourney win.
  14. You're ruining it, kreed! I was trying to catch him.
  15. what's your point?
  16. Appreciate it, Doc. Just seems like that would be a natural thing to include in an article and I wouldn't think that the coaches would want to conceal the names of players competing for positions. I also noticed on the depth chart that Bullard and Fazio are the top 2 listed at RT currently. IIRC, both are seniors who have played sparingly throughout their career. My ignorant opinion is that either one of them starting may not be a good sign. Then again, maybe one of them could put together a nice senior year.
  17. I'm probably just being picky, but I would really like to know the 4 players who will be competing at center and the 3 who will be competing for RT. Austin Sample, a walkon as far as I know (and listed at 200lbs), is apparently 1st string center based on the depth chart in the spring prospectus. I have a little trouble buying that.
  18. that is one hell of a field. we are probably the worst program there,
  19. I'm pretty good at putting 2 and 2 together, especially when certain commenting styles on here and other places are so obviously similar, and I do not see Mr. Dre's name on this list. Must be a mistake. https://www.uakron.edu/development/honor-roll/index.dot?letter=B&donor_type=indiv
  20. Dre seems like the type of guy that would dwell in the sewers otherwise known as the ohio.com and cleveland.com comment sections.
  21. Yeah...maybe Tenn Zip is onto something about it wearing him out. He has been everywhere. Money shouldn't be an issue so why not take a pay cut and enjoy life again?
  22. No notable omissions from the roster it looks like. Good to see.
  23. I feel like it has to be an internal promotion if nothing has been done yet.
