  1. Does anyone know whats going on with Eubanks? I know he had the eye issue earlier in the season and came back and got a few minutes at least one game, but I don't think he's been in since, nor have I noticed him on the bench. I never had high expectations, but you would think he would be getting some minutes with our lack of depth (if he is healthy and with the team).
  2. thats pretty sweet.
  3. Deearious Reese and Kyre Williams out of East just picked up offers out from Toledo per Coach Hayes' twitter account. I believe both are in the '19 class. I like the film I've seen from both of them (and I believe we've already offered).
  4. ^^Yawn. I took a peak over there a while back and fans were already growing restless a few games into his tenure after losses to inter-city rivals Robert Morris and Pitt. Get some context Elton, of course Duquesne fans are going to love this compared to what they've dealt with the past 30 years. Being overanalyzed for faults in victory is a sign of a good program. It's natural to want more, especially when those victories weren't leading to anything meaningful in the post season. If you can't handle it, go to a shitty program with no expectations like KD did. I can't remember anyone calling for his head. Shame on us for hoping to raise expectations to something other than a 21+ win season over cupcakes, disappointing MAC-C loss, and inevitable first round NIT/CBI/CIT exit. I guess he's never watched a Buckeye game? People get disappointed if they don't win half of their games by 40+ points. The Steelers just let go of their OC after getting the #2 seed in the conference. Bo Pelini got fired from Nebraska for winning 9 games every year. What was Mike Brown's winning % (the first time he was fired) or David Blatt's when he was let go? I can go on and on.
  5. nailed it. Don't know why I was thinking a former player. Probably because I assumed they were a firefighter now....
  6. Looks familiar, but I'm stumped. Did they used to have dreads?
  7. Sorry balsy, but you are the type of guy that will argue the sky isn't blue. It doesn't hurt anything. M-W classes will simply be 25-30 mins longer and the students will get an extra full day off to do whatever they deem the best use of their time as a result.
  8. One of my favorite things to do is read bobcatattack after kicking OWho's a$$! Nice win and great team effort all around, Zips. Everybody contributed. This is now at least the 2nd time Lucas Smith has been in to close out a close game. He'll most likely never be more than what he is now (smart player, good defender, hustler, etc), but it is an awesome story in my book.
  9. IlliniZip made me pull up the B1G standings. Illinois is 10-10 and 0-7 in what seems to be a pretty down year for the conference.
  10. Pure speculation....but he doesn't have any other reported offers, so if he doesn't sign you'd have to assume it is due to grades.
  11. Prob not much of a stretch to assume a NFL special teams coordinator > special teams coordinator at a middling G5 program.
  12. Cap'n..you seem to be speaking of Edwards in past-tense. Do you know something that we don't?
  13. I don't really know how I feel about it. I'm sure there will be both positive and negative consequences in both football and basketball. Players may think that being at a larger program will help them make the NBA or NFL, but there is plenty of recent history that suggests you will get your shot no matter where you play. Dame Lilliard, Steph Curry, Cameron Payne, Larry Nance, Khalil Mack, Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, and Eric Fisher all immediately come to mind.
  14. Awesome. Seems like OL shouldn't be an issue for the foreseeable future as we've got some pretty good commits this year.
  15. I only was able to watch 2/3rds of the game, but man every time I watch EMU I quickly get reminded on how much I can't stand Thompson. He is the dirtiest player in the league. Kostelac seemed to do a solid job on him, but needs to continue to work on going up stronger on offense when he was it down low. The way to beat the 2/3 is to get it into the high post. We do it sometimes, but the guy who gets it there is never looking to shoot so that makes it easy for the defense to defend. Put the best mid-range shooter we have there on offense. Parrish's play stuck out well, but Utomi nor Ivey brought it. We aren't going to win many when Ivey and/or Utomi aren't the leading scorers (and doing it in a somewhat efficient manner). The T on Parrish pissed me off, especially in the wake of us one our of players going through a serious fall as a result of not hanging on it. There should be NOTHING wrong with hanging on the rim for a split second to regain your composure so you can land safely on your feet. To top it off, Thompson really hung on the rim TWICE that I saw and he didn't get called once. Fix the damn rule NCAA. I don't even see anything wrong with hanging on the rim...in fact better dunks would make the product better.
  16. I think it almost has to happen to 1 or 2 guys. There are no incoming freshman next year that I'm aware of. Seems it will be 1 max if any since Poles took 1 of the 2 departing-senior schollies. There are going to be guys who played this year who will be on the end of the bench with 4 new and talented players coming into the mix.
  17. I personally think he can be a beast with his size and athleticism. A red-shirt year this year would have benefited him and I think he could be a candidate for one next year (even though he might not like it). More time learning, getting acclimated, and working on his figure could do wonders for him down the road.
  18. He does need to foul less, but some of the calls seem to be a joke, especially last game.
  19. Most definitely you think it would be us. I can't remember them beating us out for any recruit recently, but may be wrong. I did see that they landed a JUCO (former Auburn 4 star) QB yesterday though. Seems like thats a good get for them.
  20. Quite an impressive offer list. I'd prefer to get him here as a LB, considering what we've brought in so far at each position. Being that these last second recruits usually come down to the places they visit right before signing day, you would think it is going to come down to us and Kent St. He does have a visit lined up with Michigan and Mich. St as well it looks like, but no offers from them as of yet. https://247sports.com/Player/Abraham-Alce-45572434
  21. I can believe it. His daughter and wife seemingly scour the internet to note anything negative said about him. I don't know if he reads the stuff himself, but I'm sure he hears about it. You are (were) a public employee making bank coaching a game being played by amateurs. Suck it up buttercup!
  22. Spot on. Akron's financial issues are well publicized. His supposed "demands in writing" have or are being met without him here. Keith has made and will make plenty of money to live more than comfortably for the rest of his life assuming he's managed it properly. Him making a donation would have made a strong statement, and something that is hard to believe wouldn't have been done if it "wasn't about him".
  23. I don't know...more money and career advancement?
  24. I wonder what ref's are allowed/trained to do in a situation like that. I think there was some contact when he first got the ball, but there didn't appear to be any contact while in the air. It didn't look to me like it was a factor.
