You can tell we've worked on beating the zone by positioning on offense. It just looks like it doesn't come natural for the players and they're hesitating. Keep hitting the 3s will hide that shortfall.

Ya..Toledo is in our side of the bracket, so I would think they are at 6:30 right before us. As for my answer to my question - my initial thought is that I wouldn't really "count" it. Probably because I've been conditioned to think that any win we have in the tourney will be a result of a big upset. BUT I bet the 12 seeds who win their play in game count it and think it means something. All higher seeds in the tourney count their wins and think they mean something even though they are the favorites and aren't pulling off a big upset. We shouldn't discount our win just because it would come against the hands of an equal or lesser opponent. For the record, I feel much more confident in a 16 seed play-in win vs a SWAC or MEAC champion than I do about us winning our conference tournament.

To continue the discussion - how much merit would you give a tourney win in Dayton as a 16 seed?

I see a lot in Parrish that I saw (and hoped) Harney could be...and that's the makings of a pretty damn good player. Size, length, athleticism, and versatility.

Maybe I'm just whining, but $34 to get into a MAC quarterfinal game seems a bit ridiculous. I don't think my tickets through the U for the football MAC championship were that much. Suppose I'll have to go through the Q.

I watched the replay last night after embarrassingly giving up on the team. Holy smokes we blew what...a 7 point lead in 30 seconds? You hate to see that happen, but both of the turnovers were more a result of WMU making great plays in my opinion. Then the WMU guy hits that insane falling down bank 3!!!!!! Then Wilder of all people bailed us out by fouling Cotton on his drive. Of cource Cotton had the stones to hit those 2 FTs (and a nice cross over/step back 3 with a few mins left). Finally, Patton makes a play on the in bounds pass and of course it goes out of bounds and gives them the ball in a good spot with time left. Nothing is ever easy with this team, but they sure make it fun to watch.

I agree with all of this. Klac got in his head the first time, IIRC. My guess is that Thompson gets a T at some point during this game. Need Klac to stay out of foul trouble as we'll need all the size we can to throw at Thompson. The key to beating the zone is ball movement and hitting your shots. Here's to hoping we have our legs!
