I would say I'm against the 1 and done rule and am open to kids going straight to the NBA if they are good enough, but acting like its either go to college or nothing is disingenuous. Plenty of realistic overseas options. Emmanuel Mudiay did it. The Ball brothers (ugh) are doing it. The #1 pick this year could very well be from a European league.

unfortunately we have no choice but to assume the most likely scenario with no coverage of the team. I hope and believe you're right in that its not as bad as it appears. I'm not sure there is a good way in spinning getting zero minutes when dressed on a team with only 6 other scholarship players, however.

Agreed....why not categorize the expense as something else? For those not following....Loren Jackson's name showed up as getting paid on one of those documents. The document was from 2016, so it's got nothing to do with Akron regardless, but as Hilltopper pointed out, its likely the Victory Rock prep guy is the most likely culprit as he seems to have a ton of connections with big names and not our Loren "Christian" Jackson. Interestingly, one of the players he has listed on his page is Aubrey Williams (Toledo).

Updated Scholly chart Looks like 2 scholly's left at most now. I think these guys back not only address some potential depth issues this season (and add potential starter talent as I like what I've seen from Jest and King - can't speak much of Baptiste), but will also allow younger guys to not be thrown into the fire if they aren't ready in 2019, as my concerns over depth at DL and LB are well documented on this site.
