  1. Don't recall if Bowden recruited him or not, but Conor Hundley from St. Xavier sticks out. But I do agree, we haven't done much there. He's never talked about it really when discussing his strategy, which I believe is NEO, Western PA, Central Ohio, and FL.
  2. Holy crap we did it fellas! Time to light up that road victory cigar. Wiggins is a beast though. Him on the boards without size is tough to deal with.
  3. Heart is thumping. PLEASE just win one road game. PLEASE.
  4. refs giveth and refs taketh
  5. Some calls going our way....I'll take it!
  6. I feel like Jimmy Chitwood owns us every time we play him.
  7. Happily proven wrong! Nice job fellas. Now lets finish it!
  8. 2 walk-ons (albiet ones who know their role very well) out there in crunch time isn't a recipe for success.
  9. Utomi is my dude...but I've yet to see this crazy vertical this season that was touted on here. That layup might have been a foul, but the lift was pretty underwhelming.
  10. LOL@ this BG sideline reporter. that was bad.
  11. Seem to be letting them play tonight.Smith def got fouled on his 3 pt attempt. Something I've noticed all year, but haven't mentioned - is that Utomi looks like a sprained ankle waiting to happen every single 3 pt attempt. Not sure if its his natural motion or if defenders choose to "aggressively" close out on him, but it looks like he could land on the defenders foot every time.
  12. I wonder if its a console thing. Nothing will load on my Xbox, but its working fine on my laptop. Utomi looks gimpy.
  13. I can't even get my friggin stream to load and I never have problems with the ESPN app. Not sure why Utomi wouldn't start..
  14. Do you know why? That seems uncommon. Maybe a reason he transferred was grades and he has to regain eligibility there as well?
  15. CBB is weird. You look at is his stats at Niagara and think "I don't get it". Then you look at his offer list.... http://verbalcommits.com/players/shane-gatling
  16. I have zero issues scheduling a gimme every season, especially when you look at the rest of it. @ Scott Frost-led Nebraska, @ probable ranked Northwestern (with a potential 1st round draft pick at QB) and @ much improved Iowa State that we became familiar with this season. Every other program does it. P5 programs generally have 2-3 in their OOC.
  17. I just can't see Riak and Poke ever on the floor at the same time outside of very rare situations (defensive lineup at end of game). They *seem* to me to be basically the exact same player, both of which are pretty limited offensively. One is just taller. Regardless, I 'm very excited about next year. Hopefully the disappointment and growing pains the fans/players/coaching staff has gone through this year will come to be worth it.
  18. Looks like we've got spring ball starting in just over a month. I'm anxiously awaiting the spring roster
  19. Yeah I'm not sure how I feel about it. Do I think its right for an employer to not allow their employee to look for "better" opportunities? No. Do I think my employer would knowingly tolerate me searching for other opportunities? No.
  20. https://www.ohio.com/akron/writers/katie-byard/gifts-to-ua-surge-ua-names-student-union-after-donor-of-largest-gift-ever-received-by-school#.WoURetqUXSg.twitter 2.3 GPA seems pretty low to get into a law program, but can't say I'm too familiar with that area.
  21. I must be in denial, because all of the players who are going to play a role in "fighting our way up from the bottom" are already here or signed. He doesn't need to convince anybody to come here right now who is going to make or break the future of the program. Skip, have you put down your season ticket deposit yet for the Dukes yet?!?!
  22. I agree it isn't *normally* done that way. Do you think anyone on the team is a candidate for red-shirts next year? If this doesn't get staggered some, we are looking to be pretty much exactly where we are now in a few years when we graduate 7-8 players in the same year. I'm sure it will naturally work itself out some in time, but as of right now there aren't really any players I'd be okay losing to transfer, mostly because its too early to tell.
  23. I don't care what he was in high school. Some kids are simply later bloomers. The coaching staff realized he was good enough for a scholarship offer (as did Iona) and I can't blame them based on what I see. He was good moves and wonderful touch around the rim, shoots efficiently, can play some good defense, hustles, is athletic, and very coordinated for somebody his size. I see the potential but am not too disappointed, as like you said and we all know, he was thrown to the wolves when he really should have been redshirted under normal circumstances. I think we need to keep in mind that all of these freshman have been thrown into the fire and need to consider that when evaluating them. I do have some that I'm higher on than others, but certainly not going to write anyone off in their true freshman season playing a lot more minutes than they should. His biggest issues to me are adjusting to the speed of the game at the D1 college level and getting rid of freshman mental errors. He does get called for some crappy fouls, but some of them are completely avoidable. I'm high on big Mark. Certainly not the rest of this season, and he might be a candidate for a red-shirt next season, but I think he has a bright future based on what I've seen he's able to do. He just needs to do it on a consistent basis.
