Agree with the above. WKU would embarrass us

Named Ohio Mr. Football and has offers from Can't St, BG, and Toledo. Go get 'em, Terry! http://www.fridaynightohio.com/news/perrys-keishaun-sims-set-be-ohios-mr-football

I don't see any MAC coach leaving for freakin Tulane
-
Congrats to Jatavis! Well deserved. I feel like we may have had at least one snub on the All-MAC teams, however. Feel like anyone of Marcus, Pittman, Coe, or Scott could have been on there. Yet our friends over in Can't had 3 1st team selections on defense..

FoxSports has us in Boise vs Utah State http://www.foxsports.com/college-football/story/bowl-projections-2015-week-14-alabama-oklahoma-clemson-michigan-state-playoff-120115 CBSSports has Akron vs Illinois in the Quick Lane bowl (I'd love the matchup). http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/bowls/predictions Whatever College Sports Madness is has us in the Heart of Dallas bowl vs Marshall. http://www.collegesportsmadness.com/football/bowl-projections SportingNews has us in the Arizona bowl vs Boise St. http://www.sportingnews.com/ncaa-football-news/4662400-week-14-bowl-projections-college-football-playoff-iowa-michigan-state-big-ten-championship-alabama-clemson What I take from all of this - who the hell knows. Sunday can't get here fast enough.

I would imagine it means the school has paid some of the leases that the baseball players were stuck with that everybody was bitching about.
-
Thanks for starting the thread. Should be interesting to watch. Hopefully a few more dominoes will fall. If his reasoning is true, I find it hard to believe he would commit to ISU, but it seems to be his only P5 offer, so you never know.
-
I agree. With our current lack of commits, I'm expecting a pretty strong ending relative to the rest of Bowden's tenure. Those decommits from MAC HC vacancies should be ripe for the taking.
-
Wasn't aware of that. They should bring it back.
-
I think Toronto would be a good fit, assuming they can fit a football field inside that dome of theirs used for baseball like the Pinstripe bowl.
-
Interesting. That same guy also said Babers to UCF, though. He's bound to get it right sometime.

I'd prefer going to Florida, but I can't complain to much about Detroit (for obvious reasons, not including destination) compared to somewhere like Boise. Also, I have no reason to doubt Hilltopper, but if for some reason it happens to be the Bahamas bowl instead, you DO NOT need a passport for boat travel. Just your birth certificate and drivers license. Traveling by air is a different story. Source: took a cruise to the Bahamas last year without a passport.
-
I think I saw him linked to Rutgers, but if that doesn't happen then great for WMU. The MAC needs a new bar set. Losing coaches to P5 conferences is one thing, but losing them to other G5 programs and/or having salaries much less is a bad look. Edit: See exhibit A. http://www.hustlebelt.com/2015/11/29/9816274/dino-babers-new-ucf-football-head-coach

Yeah I'm not sure why there aren't more leaks. I think most are waiting for official announcements after championship weekend. According to the Bahamas Bowl website, theirs won't be announced until the 6th.
-
There are a lot of variables that can come into play when you're looking to choose between bowls. The Bahamas bowl is played in a stadium with a capacity of 15,000. Ford Field holds 65,000.How many tickets does each bowl require schools to buy and what is the face value? What is the bowl payout? Are travel/lodging expenses covered? Etc. Etc.

SBnation has Akron vs MTSU in the Bahamas. http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2015/11/29/9813564/bowl-games-projections-2015-ncaa-football-playoff-predictions So does CBSsports. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/bowls/predictions Campus Insiders has us in the Idaho Potato Bowl vs Boise http://campusinsiders.com/news/2015-2016-college-football-bowl-projections-after-week-13-11-29-2015 That seems to be the only predictions that have been updated for now. While the Bahamas would be nice, I would prefer something not as close to Christmas for personal reasons. I plan to find a way to go either way.
-
I'm sure it will be leaked as soon as something is determined. McMurphy leaked MTSU to the Bahamas bowl days ago.
-
Looks like he had offers from EMU and SDSU as well. Also looks like we underwent some surgery that hopefully kept him under the radar a little bit.
-
That would be a horrible hiring. As for Babers, I'll throw his name in the ring for UCF. No clue for Fleck and Carey. This year may not be their year.
-
Obv. case by case scenario, but what have Solich and Bowden ever done in the conference? I do like the perceived stability he brings, but I wouldn't mind some big victories over ranked teams, a national ranking, winning the conference, and being in line for a New Year's day bowl bid. Hopefully we end up getting that with Bowden, but I'm not sure I'd want Solich, or even Bowden if this is all he ever turns out to be.
-
It is a very stupid question. Its not uncommon for the conference to fork over some money to help cover the costs as well as the team payout the bowls give as well. For example, the MAC forked over 450k CMU in the Bahamas bowl last year. http://www.cm-life.com/article/2014/12/fball-bowl-costs Bowl payouts, notice a lot of the MAC bowls say "TBD", but it is safe to assume at least a few hundred thousand and payouts if you look at the rest of them. http://www.statisticbrain.com/college-bowl-game-payouts/ I find it hard to believe we would actually lose money going to a bowl game. I think we should pay close attention to those payouts however and factor that into consideration if we have a choice.
-
Maybe it has to do with FAU's strong showing against an overrated SEC team in Florida last week.
-
There were legitimate streaming issues yesterday, but it had nothing to do with Akron. It had to do with that crappy American Sports Network that the MAC is contracted with/ESPN outsources to. Sidenote: I took a look over there and the whole can't read, can't write thing holds water. Those guys are not knowledgeable.
-
I know the general consensus seems to be that we are in no matter what, but I'm still keeping tracker anyways. Somebody said something about picking. This could show us how many bowls we might have that option with. AAC: East Carolina has Cinci next week. After Cinci got their doors blown off against USF, this game is pretty much 50/50. Tulsa. Beat Tulane. – Bowl Eligible ACC: Virginia Tech. They have Virginia next week. Probably a more likely than not chance that VT becomes bowl eligible.' Big 12: Texas. Has TTU and Baylor left. Highly unlikely they win out to become bowl eligible. Lost to TT - Eliminated KState: Has Kansas and WVU left. Shouldn't lose to Kansas, but I don't see them getting by WVU. B1G; Indiana- has Purdue. Should be a win there. Nebraska- Iowa. L. Lost to Iowa. - Eliminated Illinois. Northwestern. L. Minnesota. Wisconsing..most likely L. CUSA: Old Dominion - should become bowl eligible with a win over FAU MAC: Buffalo. Lost to umass -Eliminated Mountain West: San Jose State- has Boise. I dont see them beating Boise. Lost to Boise - Eliminated Pac 12: Washington. Have Wash St next week and should be underdogs in it. Could go either way IMO. – Bowl Eligible SEC: Vandy. lost to A&M - ELIMINATED kentucky- Have Louisville next week. ABout 50/50. Missouri - Arkansas. Probably most likely loss. -Lost to Arkansas. Eliminated Sun Belt: Georgia State: Has to beat GA Southern. Not going to happen. South Alabama. Needs to go 1-1 vs GA Soutern and App State. Most likely not going to happen. ULL: Needs to win out vs App State and Troy. Most likely not going to happen. So there were 19 teams fighting for 9 spots. 6 have been eliminated, 2 have clinched and 11 are still TBD. Most likely will qualify: 3 Maybe will qualify: 2 Most likely wont qualify: 6 Eliminated: 6 Qualified: 2
