  1. A Super Bowl loser's opinion on the matter. http://deadspin.com/richard-sherman-sticks-up-for-tom-brady-1725344561?utm_campaign=socialflow_deadspin_twitter&utm_source=deadspin_twitter&utm_medium=socialflow
  2. Uhhh.........yeah about that.
  3. At least somebody would start to "Think Bigger."
  4. They better hope they don't overlook us for Tennessee, which very well could happen. They could find themselves in big trouble.
  5. I have not. I certainly would not have been against him being hired, but I also find it hard to believe we could get a guy with a better resume than Williams'. Sans football (not at a fault of his), just about everything he has done or has experience with is something Akron is looking for. GVH could have been a great hire, certainly deserving, but none of us really know. I don't think the U is currently in a position to take big chances. We know what Williams has done and can do.
  6. Probably about the same time Akron joins the ACC.
  7. I find it hard to have a reason not to like this hire. Certainly could have done a lot worse. Not sure about better.
  8. Deadspin with a write up on Oklahoma for those who want to know more about them. http://deadspin.com/deadspin-25-samaje-perine-is-the-best-reason-to-care-a-1724909099?rev=1439936256427&utm_campaign=socialflow_deadspin_twitter&utm_source=deadspin_twitter&utm_medium=socialflow
  9. I don't remember hearing anything about Williams. You would obviously know better than me, but if Eubanks is red-shirting this year (as Dave said) and not grey shirting, I'm pretty sure he would already be included in the scholarship count for this year.
  10. Maybe. But I find it hard to believe everything would be kept quiet if he has done some worse things than others on our roster have done.
  11. Reggie, Kretz, and Pat are all seniors. So we should have 3 scholarships available. Dunn-Martin would leave two unless I am forgetting another commit or a grey shirt. Its pretty imperative we get a big man in this class.
  12. Marcelys Jones (Glenville) is now available. http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/08/17/kentucky-dismisses-ex-buckeye-marcelys-jones/
  13. Was looking on GoZips.com to potentially buy group tickets for the Pitt game and this is what shows up: http://gozips.com/gameday/fb/index So 3rd rate. Step it up UA. Also, if anybody could point me into a direction where I would get hooked up, it would be much appreciated. As an alumi and for a school who is coming off of the worst attendance in CFB, I feel I should be able to get a better deal than $27/piece (which is the current price on ticket master). I think I paid 10 or 15 for a GA ticket last season for the Marshall game. I did actually make an appearance:http://gozips.com/tickets/groups/index That picture is a good 6 years old.
  14. Nice job Capi. Keep it up and he's bound to make the team. Nice to see him giving credit to the whole unit.
  15. I've seen the story posted on ESPN, Yahoo, The Today Show, Sports Illustrated..basically everywhere. I don't care who is "paying" for it. The University couldn't ask for better PR, especially as of late. Forever having the College of Education named after him/his charity and giving us that name recognition makes it all that much better. Partnering with this guy as much as possible is a no lose situation. Great move UA!
  16. Well even if I didn't ignore the rest, not even this most recent year anomaly, they are still averaging 18k over a 5 year period. I stand by my statement that I think if we had a program with similar success to NIU, with our beautiful facilities and being located in a hotbed for football, 20k average attendance wouldn't be unreasonable. But my roots aren't from Northeast Ohio, so maybe I am not as cynical as some.
  17. 2011, 2012, and 2013 were all above or around 20k per the article Keener just posted. I'm not going to defend them too much, but we all know weeknight games are certainly a detriment to attendance. Their sole OOC home game last season was vs Presbyterian. Not a great draw right there.
  18. Marshall averaged 27k last year I believe in little old Huntington, WV. NIU probably averages 20k over the past 5 years. I think 20k for a 9-10 avg winner is a reasonable expectation and acceptable.
  19. Thanks. I would not have qualified.
  20. A&M has an enrollment of 60k. I think they are doing just fine despite that cadet corp they are known for "turning so many students off." If anything, a lot of our students could work on their leadership and discipline considering the abysmal graduation rate.
  21. What are the current thresholds?
  22. How dare the university give scholarships away to inner city children. Don't they know we are in a financial crisis1!!!1! /lynch mobbed
  23. I like to think a head of a military-like group that instills discipline and leadership in you would have much more of an impact on someone's life and resume than a sociology professor ever would.
  24. The most recent "withdrawal" could be because of knowledge that they aren't getting the job. I believe similar to Tressel during the President search.
  25. Does GVH bolt if he doesn't get the job?
