  1. Highlighted part is false. Rodgers has admitted to messing with air pressure when this first came out. The Wells report also found that 3 of the 4 Colts balls tested were under inflated as well
  2. I respect the talent of Tom Brady, but am no fan of him or the Pats. With that said, people are making too big of a deal of it. I guess that's what happens in the offseason. 1) The Pats blew the hell out of the Colts whatever mythical marginal advantage they got wouldn't have made a difference in the outcome. 2) Most of the balls were about 1 pound or less than 10% under-inflated. There are more important things in the NFL to worry about that actually matter.
  3. Cardale is mocked top 5 in many drafts for next season.
  4. MAC officiating must be pretty horrible for the conference head to get promoted to national head.
  5. Not considering a name change? He must think we all have a short memory. Sorry pres, cat is out of the bag. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2015/03/university_of_akron_may_change.html
  6. Are you aware that most professional sports leagues are tax exempt? The only one that aren't are because they choose not to be (maybe with exception to the NBA, I haven't read enough on it). Also, the NFL has been tax exempt since 1942. People are making mole hills into mountains because they either don't know, or want something to complain about. All taxes are getting paid. It really doesn't matter. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12780874/nfl-league-office-gives-tax-exempt-status
  7. Should have named Tressel President. Seriously. But people were too worried about some doctorate like it really means anything about being a figurehead for a university.
  8. I don't hate the Z, but agree about the "A-Roo" as its being termed. I like it a lot.
  9. That's where we are going to have to agree to disagree. If they shouldn't have been a tax-exempt org, how has it not been revoked in the decades it's been in existence? The whole debate doesn't matter, anyways. The NFL still won't be paying taxes. The teams and Rodger Goodell still will just like they are now. It's purely a PR move for people who don't understand taxes and want something to complain about.
  10. The majority of the income is going to the teams that make up the league, who then pay taxes on it. Rodger Goodell pays taxes on his hefty salary. The NFL donates some income to charitable orgs and has legitimate expenses that have to deal with the development/safety of the game. What's the problem again?
  11. deadpsin is even talking about us http://deadspin.com/cardale-jones-did-a-good-prank-today-1701560508
  12. The sad part is many of our real commits/players do to.
  13. Lol. Loosen up.
  14. Taking a lot of heat, as it should.
  15. Its really not that complicated if you have a basic understanding of the system (the problem is most people don't). The taxes are still getting paid somewhere along the line.
  16. Seems like its strictly a PR move. Doubt they will have to pay a dime in tax with distributions to teams. A plus is that Goodell won't have to disclose his salary anymore.
  17. Thanks. And speaking of the NFL, they just announced recently they are giving up their non-profit status.
  18. I mentioned it before but nobody really had anything to say, I wouldn't be shocked to see an abatement by the city/county if this thing ever were to a point where it seemed likely.
  19. Looks like we picked up a commit from Ridgewater JuCo TE Johnnie Pope. Based on his twitter, looks like most of his other offers were from FCS programs. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1605579/highlights/168149375/v2 2⃣4⃣ hour GRIND @Quick6_Pope · 4h 4 hours ago zipNation happy to be a Akron zip
  20. Looks slick.
  21. Thanks for joining. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
  22. If that's who we end up playing, and as a complainer of the schedule for years, I have to say great job Coach Dambrot. The opportunity to play both seems almost too good to be true, but time will tell I guess.

Ha. Just saw this. Surprised I made the cut.
  24. My argument is that there isn't much value in being named "winner" of the tournament. The value is in playing and having a chance to beat big name opponents. I'm confident that nobody on this board knows the winner of this last season without looking it up, because all it is is another early season tourney. Come tourney selection time, nobody is going to care that Villanova won the Preseason NIT, but they would care if we had a win over Nova. I'm pretty sure we have never beaten a top 25 team, so us winning anything would be a complete long shot. Even if we don't win any it would be great experience to prepare us for the tourney if we make it.
