The names of ref's are something I honestly hardly ever pay attention to (really the only way I know any names is because of this forum), however I have seen some familiar names during the NCAA tourney. Another one from the above mentioned is Terry Wymer. Wichita St/ND, WVU/Maryland, and Albany/Oklahoma during the tourney.

Well in your defense (not that you're looking for it), you were kind of forced to stop being a fan in 1995. I couldn't imagine going 20 yrs without a rooting interest professional football (assuming you didn't pick up another team).

Never understood how you can just be 'done' as a team you are supposedly a fan of. Maybe lose interest over time, but not just quit.

Pohl has been the starter for two seasons and has been in the program for over 4 seasons now. I have zero issue with the coaches seeing if we have better. I don't see a revolving door at all. It also goes both ways. You can look a few hours south and see that a QB (freshman) in his first season went 11-1, and a QB making his first 3 starts beat Wisconsin, Alabama, and Oregon to win a national championship. You have to trust the coaching staff, and I don't really see why we shouldn't.

Hopefully MTB not being on the two deep is like the Kincade situation. Moreso not there because of other talent, rather than himself. I doubt it's that way, however.

Even if their football team does well this season, they are still spending some time being indepdendent. I can't think of a team who has accepted an invite in the offseason and was in the new member conference the next fall. Takes time to adjust things for the new conference. Same for UMASS. If they have games scheduled, they are going to have to cancel those ($$)/play them out until contract expires. Surely they wouldn't risk going into a season with no games scheduled.

Thanks. What you are saying is mostly in line with what I have read. Though, its more or less semantics, but Elton says its closer to 1 million per school. I also did some research on James Madison and came across some interesting tidbits. Subsidies increase an average of 1.2 million when reclassifying from FCS to FBS. James Madison also expects that I move to FBS would result in an increase of 2 million/year in donations. I cannot find anything regarding the whole athletics budget for JMU. Using my math, 400 difference in the tv contract, 1.2 million in subsidies, and 2 million increase in donations, this puts their athletic budget at 20.3 million. That isn't considering the University's additional commitment to athletics that would come with a move to FBS. However, debating minor math is besides the point. The point is that they are a lot closer than many on here are making them out to be, and certainly capable of hitting some minimum threshold if one were to be set. Would have made 1.2 million at Can't St. With the 1.2 million owed, the career decision only netted 400k and is now unemployed.

Probably doesn't mean anything, but I was surprised Pohl is current 1st on the depth chart. Wouldn't have that feeling when considering all of the info we have. I'd assume its just a formality.
