  2. FYI the National Championship trophy will be in attendance for whatever reason. Still cool though!
  3. "It is not known how many students attend games" is a straight lie.
  4. I guess I would be too if I could no longer attempt to sell my conspiracy theory to Zipsnation. I'm pretty pumped and might even question your fandom if you aren't excited for the most important game thus far in the season. One against the reigning MAC champion at home, on national television, with our starting QB back who is 8-3 in his last 11 games, where a W would put us in the driver's seat to play in the MAC Championship.
  5. with our old friends Temple knocking off ECU, Marshall now has an inside track to an auto BCS bid
  6. Thanks for this clarification. I didnt get to see any of the game last week, just listened to the first half on TuneIn radio. If so, the whole thing makes a lot more sense.
  7. Maybe my memory is letting me down, but I'm pretty sure it was Harney that stepped up and played out of position at PG (even started there) to lead us to the 2013 MAC title.
  8. Glad to get some clarity on the issue and that Kyle is good to go. Just seemed really odd that he was dressed if not ready to go. Have to like our chances. BG is not as good this season. I expect the team to be pumped up with the black out, being on ESPN, and with Kyle back. Go Zips!
  9. Once again Dave, just wanting to make sure we are on the same page. I'm assuming this post was directed at me. The only thing I said I know is that Pohl had a head injury during the Miami game, and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, it came straight from the coaches mouth that he has been cleared. I didnt make any statement about when he was cleared. If you're comment wasn't directed at me, I see where you are coming from as there have been some extreme stances floating around. I like to think I am taking a wait and see approach before making up my mind, but I would be lying if I said I haven't formed an opinion based upon the information available to us. Do you have connections where you know what is and what is not fact regarding this situation?
  10. Thanks for sharing Balszy. Good luck to Melo. He has represented the university very well on and more importantly off of the court. Wish the best for him. I feel like I'm beating a dead horse, but one would feel that a hometown beat reporter who is at the very least occasionally engaged with would break the news that the starting PG from the last season has left the team. Glad this board exists.
  11. I'm not sure that we are on the same page here. PAC 12 coaches (I picked David Shaw from the article and did some research) disclose whether a player is injured or not. Sometimes they hide the nature of the injury. We know what Pohl's injury was. The coach said he was cleared. Is he still holding him out for an injury? Nobody hides IF a player is injured or not, just choose not to disclose the nature of the injury. I don't see how PAC 12 handles things and our apparent current situation are related.Example: I know Zach Hoffpauir, a safety for Stanford is out because of an injury. I do not know what the injury is. I do not know if Kyle Pohl did not play due to an injury, but I know what his injury that he was cleared for is.
  12. It's not like the status of a players' health is some mystery everywhere else in the country. Bottom line: GT doesn't have a single tweet about Zips FB since the Ball St game. He is doing the bare minimum to get by as a beat reporter for Akron Zips football. He doesn't want to cover us. He had a whole 3 updates during the game last week. Two of them were saying the exact same thing and one of them was about the announcers. He provides zero substance for the fan base that he is working for. This post is harsh, but it's the truth. We deserve better coverage.
  13. I was agreeing with you.
  14. Coach Bowden must be the only responsible coach in all of college or professional football. The decision raises questions, and rightfully so. Our questions will be answered the BG game. I'm still willing to give coach the benefit of the doubt, but The "responsible" excuse cannot be used 3+ weeks after a player is cleared. Also note that coach has said nothing about not putting Pohl in the game because he wasn't ready, he stated its because it wouldn't have been "fair" to him.
  15. I wonder how often inexperienced teams are picked to play in their conference championship before a game is ever played
  16. If Woodson plays ahead of Pohl for this game without a valid reason, my support for Bowden will be about all but gone. I just cannot get over such a mind numbingly dumb decision. He is single handily costing us the season due to his own stubbornness if the situation is what it looks like.
  17. To be clear, when Hirschman led us back last season, it was against James Madison. I thought he looked serviceable last season, though should not have played over Pohl. Hirschman is a forming starting QB at a FBS program (Colorado). While playing at Colorado isn't anything to write home about, I still feel like if we are trying to win games this season, he would be the better option to go to with his experience. None of this makes sense to me. If Woodson is better than Hirschman and the coaching staff thinks he gives us a better chance to win, then so be it. I still cannot rationalize why Woodson would be playing ahead of Pohl if Pohl is good to go. Nothing at all against Woodson, because I think he has the tools to have a bright future and has been giving it his all, but he just isn't ready yet. Its kind of unfair to him. Bowden shouldn't be playing for the future. He should be playing for this season. Getting this program to a bowl and a winning record is very important. We are more than capable of doing it THIS SEASON. Bowden has seen two samples of Woodson. One, he was forced to. The other, nobody really knows. It'll be very interesting to see who we goes with against BG...If he goes with Woodson, there is no way I can support the decision.
  18. Actually Pohl seems like a bright enough kid to graduate in 4 years. Holding out a slim hope that there really is more to the story than we know. Because I'm pretty baffled by the situation as well. Bowden doesn't strike me as a guy with this big of an ego.
  19. I know you enjoy hearing yourself talk and all, but you do realize if Pohl transfers and if he ever wants to play again, it has to be out of D1 right?
  20. Remember this: winning 6 games isn't even a guarantee for anything. Hell, winning 7 games isn't a guarantee for crap, either. See Toledo last year. Even if we become bowl eligible, losing to crap teams is not good.
  21. ^im also assuming you had us beating Howard, EMU, and Miami as well..which means you had us at 4-4.
  22. If Bowden isn't taking this season seriously, then I'm not going to waste my time on it.
  23. I'm...at a loss for words.
  24. I like SB nations and NFL.com's the most. Looking forward to traveling south.
