  1. I think Mizell is going to end up being a no-go.
  2. You're forgetting some guy strongly affiliated with the program by the name of "Phil Knight"
  3. Is this real life? Good luck getting another offer with a highlight film like that.
  4. Oh jesus. We have a realistic shot at winning games with our current schedule. We want a realistic shot to win each game? Dont schedule the likes of Michigan, OSU, etc. Mid-major is what you describe "somewhere between BCS and 1-AA"
  5. Staten? He had a great spring game!
  6. What numbers do you doubt? The 38% is legit. Since I've came here, I've heard the rates were in the 30s. The 4 year graduation rate is a staggering 14%...yikes. http://collegeapps.about.com/od/collegepro...ty-of-akron.htm http://www.uakron.edu/about_ua/quick_facts.dot I think the problem lies within the acceptance of many students from a City Series school. Sure there are plenty of others that do not make it, but sitting here, of the people I know that went to high school in Akron (excluding SVSM and Hoban), I can think of two that are still in school (with a sample size of over a dozen). One of those transferred to a school in Florida, and the other will certainly not complete her degree on time, as she took year off to go live it up in Miami.
  7. In GP1's dreamworld, yes.
  8. We have a pretty size-able African American Enrollment. I'd imagine if their graduation rate from a measly 9-point-whatever percent to something around 30%, our graduation rates would be pretty normal. There is no denying that the overall rate needs to improve.
  9. Its pretty amazing when you look at the QB situation now compared to the Spring game.
  10. I follow Bennett on twitter...he seems like one of the most dedicated players I've ever seen, or at least he likes to talk about it the most.
  11. An Aussie punter did pretty damn good for LSU the past few years as well, too. I think he wont get much time this year. We have a pretty solid punter already.
  12. He was referencing the past in his post. Players get better, we have the 6th man of the year back. Offense will be fine.
  13. ^ I dont think we are as bad on offense as you make us out to be. We were 57th in the nation last year.
  14. To add..how about Ben McClemore (5-24) in his first game, or even Dion Waiters who was first-team all rookie (1-11) in his first summer league game.
  15. Just wanted to quote this pathetic excuse of a "fan"
  16. Plenty of good can come out of it. First off, it's a natural geographic rivalry, so it would be a well attended game. Secondly, it is a winnable game (we can use those). Lastly, the bragging rights can help with recruiting. Believe it or not, we have lost out on recruits to YSU. There is a lot more good to come out of playing them than the James Madison's and VMI's of the world. Unless we lose, of course.
  17. One less piece of trash on the streets.
  18. Hasnt OSU routinely played 1-2 in state opponents every year?
  19. I think my favorite place in Akron is by far The Lockview. Its pretty unique. I think 160+ beer selection (they dont carry macrobrews). Their food specialization is grilled cheese. http://thelockview.com/ As far as football tradition....uhhh.....
  20. Unfortunately, I dont believe it looks very good for Zeke. It's hard to prove yourself when you play in short stretches and for a short amount of time overall. No time to adjust or get into any sort of groove. The question is whether he will have any more chances....
  21. Looks to be another great get! Wonder if Kincade had anything to do with it?
  22. Hmm, the "turning hips faster" part of the initial post is what is making me talk agility. But, I do agree, pursuit angles are definitely teachable, and are something that is taught at least clear back to middle school. Regardless, I wish him the best, obviously. We seem to have a lot of depth at LB. Hopefully somebody can step up and be "aplha" of the second line of defense.
  23. I've learned just to ignore GP1's long winded post about why spring football is a viable option.
  24. Agreed. You can only improve your agility like that to an extent; and I dont see Rossi as having much room to improve. Golf is not a good example to refute this, as most of that game is based on form, not athletic ability.
  25. I'm pretty sure he is a walk-on.
