Are the numbers embarassing? Yes. But how about we put some of the blame on the students, where it really belongs. Sure, maybe UA has implemented some dirty, unethical, or whatever you want to call it tactics, in admitting students who aren't qualified, have no real shot at graduating college, etc....but can you blame a business for trying to obtain the most revenue possible? How about the failing students and their family face reality and realize that college isnt for them? The world needs ditch diggers, too. All I can do is praise UA for the opportunities they have given me. I came here as a transfer student from a community college. Had my bumps, but got my crap together and now have a job waiting on my at one of the top companies in my field when I graduate in December. Employers heavily recruit UA for my major, and other majors as well. I'm getting as good of a starting salary as you can get anywhere, even with a Master's, and I'll only have a Bachelor's. I can do nothing but thank UA for the opportunities they have provided me with. However, I wouldnt have gotten those opportunities without a little bit of self-accountability and motivation. Other students should take note.

Well said. Im so damn tired of the Akron vs Cleveland inferiority complex some Akron fans have on this board. Hating on a city for losing, especially one that plays a huge role in our local economy? SMH Cleveland is great, Akron is great. Get a life. Hating on Cleveland is just as sad as hating on Lebron.

Can anyone tell me where Bennett has been lining up? I would assume he would be an outside receiver with his size, and there was a spot open with LT Smith moving to the inside, but read an article saying he was moved back to the outside. So, if my thinking is right, when Bennett is in with the starters, he would be taking time from Smith or Dillard?

They have a section down by the field as well. Not every away opponent we play has the ticket demand OSU has.

What section are they sitting Akron fans in? What the hell are you talking about? That endzone with the scoreboard is the student section. The visitor section is in the far left endzone corner (on the visitor sideline side) when looking from the press box.

What numbers do you doubt? The 38% is legit. Since I've came here, I've heard the rates were in the 30s. Sure there are plenty of others that do not make it, but sitting here, of the people I know that went to high school in Akron (excluding SVSM and Hoban), I can think of two that are still in school (with a sample size of over a dozen). One of those transferred to a school in Florida, and the other will certainly not complete her degree on time, as she took year off to go live it up in Miami.

We have a pretty size-able African American Enrollment. I'd imagine if their graduation rate from a measly 9-point-whatever percent to something around 30%, our graduation rates would be pretty normal. There is no denying that the overall rate needs to improve.

An Aussie punter did pretty damn good for LSU the past few years as well, too. I think he wont get much time this year. We have a pretty solid punter already.
