  1. I agree. I am just as disappointed that the at-large is now out the window as everybody else on this board. The road to the NCAA tourney has narrowed, but I think we will be a better team because of this loss in the long run. This goes back to our scheduling/conference talk on the OU thread. Its a shame that a team cannot slip up on game in conference and have their at-large hopes go out the window.
  2. You must not watch a lot of basketball, because losses like tonight are not uncommon at all. I can name many worse losses from top perennial teams in college basketball than what the Zips had tonight. This loss doesnt mean anything at all in putting us in a much tougher position. 11 seed, 12 seed, 13 seed; who cares. Seeding doesnt mean much, even less this year with the parity in college basketball. Its more about what team we draw and how we match up with them.
  3. Saying the basketball team could beat the football team in football is an absolute joke of a comment. And as for the guy who made it, I'm glad you claim to rooting for Pedo State. I'll enjoy watching them fall into the depths of irrelevancy the next few years.
  4. The let down was expected, and the loss will do us good in many ways outside of our at-large chances being buried. Outside of the team playing bad, there were a few questionable decisions made tonight to me. Betancourt and Abreu on the court at the same time? I dont mind Deji getting some minutes, but did not think he should have been in while we were trying to make a comeback with under 10 left. We need scoring a scoring threat at the 2 then. I just dont understand why Harney is allowed to shoot 3s. He is probably shooting 15% this season. Zeke could pull that off. Its just not his game and he shouldnt force it.
  5. I guess that is looking at it as the half glass full lol. I would prefer that over Coppin St.
  6. I agree with your last sentence. But OU is now losing, it definitely has an effect.
  7. Say we are able to bring OSU or Pitt or Michigan St to the Q... We would probably have to give them a chunk of the the revenue and they would probably have more fans there than us...
  8. This game definitely scares me, and I would bet they are worn out. Zeke tweeted the other day saying he was "mentally and physically exhausted". I figure the whole team in after that game. I still have confidence that we will come away with the W.
  9. There is a good chance it will fail, just like every other outdoors league.
  10. No idea. Never watched a game in the Rubber Bowl. Just think it is a safe bet that a guy who grew up in the town of the Rubber Bowl, and a guy who has lived in North Canton the past 10+ years would have plenty of local knowledge.
  11. St. Johns...I am looking at you.
  12. Lack of local knowledge? Did you read the article?
  13. I can certainly understand OU's problems with the tourney run last year. I just have trouble seeing why "majors" would be afraid to play a team that has NEVER beaten a ranked opponent, and has never won an NCAA tournament game. Unlike this year, Its not like we have had "bracketbuster" written all over us before.
  14. hmm good point. I see the pros and cons to that.
  15. There is no way the Friday game will be during the day time. It will be evening.
  16. To clarify, I never said anything about top programs. Just BETTER. Surely we can find a few more schools ranked between 100-200 that want to do a 1 and 1. Not my argument, but from your reply, I've found a few top mid-majors that got good teams to come to their place this year. St. Louis got New Mexico to come to their place. VCU got Wichita St to come to their place. Belmont also came, as well as Bama. UMASS got Miami to come to their place. Memphis got Louisville to come. MTSU got Ole Miss to come. Like I said, not my argument, but looking at this, its not as hard to good teams to come to your place as it would be in football.
  17. I think the schedule IS good enough to get us an at-large. Didnt DiG just post something saying we have ~50% chance to earn an at-large? If we lose one less game, there is no question we get an at-large. I still would like to see us get rid of the Arkansas Pine-Bluffs, Coppin State's, and Texas Southern's of the world. Being a mid-major, we cant afford to schedule those guys like major conferences because we dont have the benefit of playing good team's in our conference.
  18. Lavert played 12 minutes last night for scUM. He did not start. From looking at his game logs, its looks like he only started one game this year, against CMU.
  19. Utah St is the only team in recent history that was ranked and was left out. I thought UNLV was once as well ranked #25, but cannot find anything on it.
  20. It still doesnt count as an impressive win, but sure helped our RPI
  21. Forysthe didnt look good last night in his limited time. You cant blame an OU fan for the small sample-size he has seen; because it is spot on based on last night's game. We all know PF has a lot of potential.
  22. I would agree the reffing was probably bad all around tonight. What do you expect out of MAC refs? However, as for the on-the-line call, it was close. But what difference does it make? After he "saved" it, it went out of bound off of his teammate anyways.
  23. I was critical in the first half, but we may have played our best second half this season!! Props to Tree and Abreu for turning it around; proud of them. S/O to the classy OU fans (students I assume) for throwing items onto the court 3 different times during the game. Classy. #OnToTheNext. @Buffalo scares me more than Can't State at home.
  24. Woo let's keep it up!
  25. I hope he does, but there is no denying the lack of hustle on D and the boards in the first half. Also, OU is shooting good because they have good ball movement and are shooting wide open shots.
