  1. Michigan State? lol
  2. What do you suggest the MAC do? I could see Marshall, much like Cinci, being reluctant to ever come back to the MAC due to the "holier than thou" attitude they probably have from already getting out of the MAC.
  3. I think it is a GREAT sign that the MAC has stayed stable thus far. Lost Temple, but gained UMASS. I know, I know its UMASS. But they were actually a top FCS program. Other smaller conferences have done worse.. I'd really like them to join in all sports though, especially basketball. I do not really see any MAC program getting targeted for what they see in terms of potential revenue gained. Like you said, there really isnt a team who dominates and also owns a large market. I just hope no programs are dumb enough to leave for another mid-major. We are showing potential.
  4. Rutgers is usually a pretty solid program. I mean their coach did just go to Tampa Bay last year. You dont do that by sucking. It was a very smart move by Maryland, financially. They athletic department is already in a lot of debt, and had to cut 7 sports this past year because of it. Joining the B1G and the revenue split from the B1G is allowing them to bring these programs back.
  5. Im not aware of the circumstances, but the MAC took Temple back before, so I dont see why they wouldnt take Marshall (or even Cinci) back. I have a big feeling the Big East will exist no more and Cinci will be an odd man out in all of the realignment.
  6. I could probably agree with him being the team POY.
  7. Cinci left in the dust again. Dont see them going to the Big 12, only the ACC if they extend more invites.
  8. Cle-Ak market is bigger than Orlando and New Orleans.
  9. I dont think that article is correct. The highest payout I can find is 18 million. And all non-AQs sure as hell dont split that payout. The Orange Bowl is sending reps to the MAC championship FWIW.
  10. NIU isnt dead yet.. i think they will need Boise to lose as well as everything Can't needs. The biggest question would be if they would jump an idle Michigan.
  11. what about cinci coming back? Do they really want to stay in a league that is dying and no better than the MAC? Unless the prefer traveling all over the country and keeping whatever dignity they think they might have by thinking they are too good for the MAC.
  12. These things called OOC games....yeah..
  13. I think Im at the point where I would actually be PISSED if we moved to the Big East. Crazy how a few months can change things..
  14. dont forget about Memphis. lol
  15. I think NIU will win, but will be rooting for Can't. Better for the conference to have somebody in a BCS bowl.
  16. I dont really see any benefit to go to the Big East now since it has lost its AQ status. The MAC should stay put as they are showing the conference is on the upswing.
  17. What would it mean for the MAC? This is just a quick search, so it may not be completely accurate, but it very close. Each BCS bowl pays out 18 million. Each participating school gets 1.74 million. The article I found is a few years old, so the participating school payout may be a little higher now. This leaves ~ 14.52 million to be split evenly among MAC SCHOOLS! Now, I am not sure if Can't would be counted again in the distribution, but them going to a BCS bowl is going to give us 1 million dollars! (maybe some of that can go to our rumored lowly ~30k recruiting budget) Hate them or not, we should be rooting for them to make it. edit: checking DiG's article..I may be wrong. However I am pretty confident the money isnt split evenly between all 60 non-aqs... here are my sources: http://www.aolnews.com/2007/01/05/auburns-...l-payouts-work/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_college_bowl_games
  18. yeah..its actually that simple. Per Espin: At the other end of the standings, No. 17 Can't State (11-1) is just one place away from earning a spot in a BCS bowl after moving up six places this week. The Golden Flashes play No. 21 Northern Illinois in the MAC championship on Friday. If the winner of that game moves up to No. 16 and remains ahead of a conference champion from an automatic-qualifying school, it will crash the BCS party. There is no Big East team ranked in the top 25, and there is room for Can't State to move up if No. 16 UCLA loses to No. 8 Stanford in the Pac-12 Championship on Friday and No. 18 Texas loses at No. 6 Kansas State.
  19. I'd have to agree considering #9 played the game of his life.
  20. Can't State wins the MAC, and Texas and UCLA lose, they are in a BCS bowl game, whether you like it or not.
  21. Im aware. I'm also aware that he was receiving these offers based on potential (size and speed) instead of what he really did on the field. Im also aware that these offers normally arent revoked unless the kid gets into trouble. He will end up at a big time program.
  22. Ferns has offers from ND, Michigan, Penn State, OSU, Stanford etc, etc. Hard for me to believe it is possible to land at a bigger school than those mentioned. I could see definitely see Monteroso getting a better offer, even though it is a little late. Especially with what he has done in the playoffs. Both are tough players, talented, and great kids. I am from the area, so I plan to go to Fawcett and watch Friday.
  23. You guys make me laugh.
  24. I take it you guys at talking about #9 Monteroso. His biggest offers are BC and Iowa, to my knowledge and he is committed to BC. He isnt even the highest recruited person on his team. #10, Michael Ferns has overs from big time programs all over the country. He is currently committed to Michigan.
  25. Interesting that Akron fans must hate a team we dont play. What are the other requirements to be a hardcore Akron fan?
