  1. I think NIU will win, but will be rooting for Can't. Better for the conference to have somebody in a BCS bowl.
  2. I dont really see any benefit to go to the Big East now since it has lost its AQ status. The MAC should stay put as they are showing the conference is on the upswing.
  3. What would it mean for the MAC? This is just a quick search, so it may not be completely accurate, but it very close. Each BCS bowl pays out 18 million. Each participating school gets 1.74 million. The article I found is a few years old, so the participating school payout may be a little higher now. This leaves ~ 14.52 million to be split evenly among MAC SCHOOLS! Now, I am not sure if Can't would be counted again in the distribution, but them going to a BCS bowl is going to give us 1 million dollars! (maybe some of that can go to our rumored lowly ~30k recruiting budget) Hate them or not, we should be rooting for them to make it. edit: checking DiG's article..I may be wrong. However I am pretty confident the money isnt split evenly between all 60 non-aqs... here are my sources: http://www.aolnews.com/2007/01/05/auburns-...l-payouts-work/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_college_bowl_games
  4. yeah..its actually that simple. Per Espin: At the other end of the standings, No. 17 Can't State (11-1) is just one place away from earning a spot in a BCS bowl after moving up six places this week. The Golden Flashes play No. 21 Northern Illinois in the MAC championship on Friday. If the winner of that game moves up to No. 16 and remains ahead of a conference champion from an automatic-qualifying school, it will crash the BCS party. There is no Big East team ranked in the top 25, and there is room for Can't State to move up if No. 16 UCLA loses to No. 8 Stanford in the Pac-12 Championship on Friday and No. 18 Texas loses at No. 6 Kansas State.
  5. I'd have to agree considering #9 played the game of his life.
  6. Can't State wins the MAC, and Texas and UCLA lose, they are in a BCS bowl game, whether you like it or not.
  7. Im aware. I'm also aware that he was receiving these offers based on potential (size and speed) instead of what he really did on the field. Im also aware that these offers normally arent revoked unless the kid gets into trouble. He will end up at a big time program.
  8. Ferns has offers from ND, Michigan, Penn State, OSU, Stanford etc, etc. Hard for me to believe it is possible to land at a bigger school than those mentioned. I could see definitely see Monteroso getting a better offer, even though it is a little late. Especially with what he has done in the playoffs. Both are tough players, talented, and great kids. I am from the area, so I plan to go to Fawcett and watch Friday.
  9. You guys make me laugh.
  10. I take it you guys at talking about #9 Monteroso. His biggest offers are BC and Iowa, to my knowledge and he is committed to BC. He isnt even the highest recruited person on his team. #10, Michael Ferns has overs from big time programs all over the country. He is currently committed to Michigan.
  11. Interesting that Akron fans must hate a team we dont play. What are the other requirements to be a hardcore Akron fan?
  12. curious to how it would have been a step backward? Seems like it would have been lateral to me.
  13. Akron fans' obsession with Ohio State amazes me. Who cares what they did. I dont see anybody hiring him. He still has 4 years on his show-cause the NCAA slapped down.
  14. Can't 17 Boise 20 NIU 21 All Can't has to do is win, and UCLA or Nebraska lose. Both great possibilities.
  15. We werent worthy of a #1 seed either I guess
  16. Im more worried about our own team right now.
  17. Our defender just fell down, smh
  18. Looking more and more like the winner of the MAC will go to a BCS bowl as long as Boise loses to Nevada.
  19. Michigan, Louisville, Rutgers, and Texas lost this week. I could see Can't passing Boise if they beat NIU. That would put them at 18. Good chance of UCLA losing to Stanford, that would probably put them at 17. Oregon State losing to Oregon, not sure how far they would drop, though. They really needed OU to beat OK St, which after checking the current score, is still very possible. I'd say Can't has a very good chance if they can beat NIU, and that is a huge IF.
  20. "Boise of the Midwest" lol
  21. Its a smart business move to play this game at Crew Stadium. Nobody in BG Thanksgiving weekend.
  22. Remember hearing about this when it was announced last year. The main reasons this game is going on is that its the Friday after Thanksgiving (no OSU game to compete against) and I guess there is a solid alumni base for BG in Columbus.
  23. We dont have anybody close to as good as him. Not a good attempt at being a smart***
  24. Cant argue with somebody who I can point out is biased just from seeing one post. Defense ranks 108th in points given up per game. Its hard to argue anybody is any good. How about Holmes blown coverage for a TD during the Toledo game? Or Freeman's 2 pass ints during the Toledo game where it resulted in a TD? He looked like Buster Skrine out there. Opposing coaches know who to attack as well as our coaches know our own weaknesses. There is a reason Commack took the better WR most of the time.
  25. Unfortunately playing heart out =/= good. Im sure many of the practice squad players play their heart out, too. Freeman better than Commack? No way. Freeman probably had a dozen PI penalties called on him this year, along with many missed tackles. Holmes flat out is bad no matter what way you want to spin it. Pretty cocky for a guy who cant make a tackle consistently. Ford wont be moved to LB. I can tell you have some connection to these guys by the emotion of your post. If you are going to post on a fan forum, you need to not be so biased.
