I didn't know Brank was in the portal either. Bummer there, but we have a lot of capable guys at TE. Outside of small toss ups here and there (like Jones and Thomas at DT),I think you are spot on @catdaddyp. I think we are in agreement on wanting another DE to challenge starting spot or least add depth (a true freshman and tweener listed in the top 2 isn't ideal IMO), another OL to challenge the guys on the interior, and another CB for good measure.

Fair points. I usually overlook the specialists as my understanding is whoever wins the jobs are the ones who get the scholarships. Unsure who they'd be at this point.

I have us at 88 going into fall right now. Not super important as all the new signees aren't yet on campus, but there are also probably players who entered the TP/moved on from football we aren't aware of, and I'd be shocked if more players don't enter after spring ball, opening up additional scholarships. Speaking of Hoban guys and not living up to the hype, I randomly saw a tweet from Brayden Fox (I believe the Brayden Fox from Hoban) who originally signed with Rutgers and then transferred to Toledo. He isn't on Toledo's roster anymore and appears to be in Arizona and started some media business.

Indeed, a white out for a university that doesn't sell/give away much white apparel (I don't think I have a white zips shirt out of the 5 or so I have) and no free giveaway just sounds like a disappointment waiting to happen. I think any roster improvements can dissipate quickly in the era of the transfer portal. With that said, there are two links to Joe interviewing for the OC job - a deleted tweet and an article from nfltraderumors.co. That isn't exactly what I'd consider credible.

Eh, while nobody from Bowden left that I recall (probably because they were just coasting to the end of their careers), even Arth had multiple guys move up. One guy to the Packers, one to the Chargers, one to Tulsa, and one to Michigan State off the top off my head.

I'm far from an expert on the ins and outs of offers, but I believe "official" offers can't go out until something like the summer or fall of their senior year. So we could offer them now and they could commit I suppose, but a lot could change between now and then for both the player and the coach/program causing it to really mean nothing. Really doesn't mean much when an official offer is sent either, as we see all the time new coaches don't honor offers of commits from the prior staff.

Indeed. I’d assume this is a scholarship player too considering they are a current college player with 1 yr of eligibility left, but have no idea.
