  1. This is the answer, however this is Akron, so I doubt we could pull it off in short order. They should also play the NFL game in Cleveland.
  2. I think I’d be shocked if there wasn’t some sort of postponement or the game being moved at this point.
  3. No bowling for Kent
  4. SDSU just played St Bonaventure at home last night. Tonight, they’re down in Arkansas taking on the #9 team in the nation. What a killer start to the season.
  5. Don't forget about Big Dog around the basket! Re: Tribble, agree if he's going to mark his mark on the offensive side, it's going to be around that basket. His athleticism masks his size there, but the size still does prohibit him some. I remember being frustrated with Tribble at the beginning of last year, but he seemed to come around as the year went on. Hopefully he does the same again.
  6. I kind of imagined, was just hoping for something more to be excited about. At the very least, we are establishing a relationship with a conference that is an upgrade in just about (maybe every?) sport. Down the road, who knows......one can dream, and the MAC has shown the willingness to take on football only members in the past.
  7. That's great. Outside of the soccer program taking a step up in competition, does athletics as a whole benefit in any way? Such as a piece of whatever Big East media money is or scheduling agreements in other sports?
  8. 7'5" player?!?! Yeah that is going to cause some problems. WKU would be another really nice mid-major win. We've faced 3 very different opponents so far so the team has some film to work with and maybe tweak some things in our 6 day break. Go Zips
  9. You caught me before I edited. BG is only showing ahead of Buffalo right now because Buffalo hasn't played their week 11 game yet.
  10. There is a very real shot they play Toledo again in the MAC-C. Assuming Buffalo beats us, they'll be playing Kent State the last week of the season in a toss up and BG plays Ohio. Rourke looks like he got injured pretty good last night...A win for BG vs Ohio would give them the tiebreaker over the Bobcats. Essentially just need Buffalo to lose one of the last two and BG beat OU.
  11. Watched the end. They have one of the ugliest floors in CBB, and at times, camera view was the basketball equivalent of what we get at Infoscision. Glad they won though, and not by more than 7.
  12. My bad, I think I am wrong on second look. Zoomed into the photo Guthrie shared of practice. Thought the QB was #0 but looks like #13.
  13. Hanker son has got to hit a shot
  14. Hunter finally hit a 3 but it didn’t count…
  15. Nice to see Johnson & Johnson get an early bucket a piece.
  16. Just read Buffalo is expecting 1-2 feet of snow this weekend. Buffalo opens as a 16 point favorite. This game is ripe for some wacky stuff to happen, and you would think it would favor the run game, which we haven't had much of this year. However, Wiley got it going last week. If DJ is ready (his injury looked rough so I don't have high hopes), we could just pull it off. This game may favor playing Jennings as he is a much better run threat than Undercuffler or Jankowski.
  17. He played a few minutes at the end of Miss St. Didn't do much, but didn't have much opportunity either. His build kind of reminded me of Garvin Clarke offhand, not that that means much. He may get more opportunity if we continue to struggle to score. Hasn't been in rotation the first 2 games.
  18. They also lost to Bellarmine. Yikes.
  19. Morgan State played somewhat reasonable vs VCU, only losing by 15. I've noticed a trend thus far in CBB following Jon Rothstein on twitter, the typical cupcakes are pulling off upsets. We better be ready, and a closer win wouldn't mean the sky is falling.
  20. WVU fired its AD Shane Lyons (father of our former long snapper Cameron Lyons). Neal Brown is probably gone IMO. There's only 2 jobs I could see Joe Mo leaving for, WVU and Pitt as they would be P5 programs that are closer to home. With our season, I don't think he'd be a candidate at WVU, so we can probably cross them off of being an option for the next 5 years.
  21. As Clark mentioned, the guys we definitely need to step up the most right now are Hankerson and Hunter. They were brought in to score, no doubt. Hopefully the issue is that its just taking time to gel. I think that's a safe assumption for Hankerson as he's a proven MAC player. Hunter is a little more up in the air as he was well regarded out of high school, but didn't do much at Ole Miss. The reports of him tearing it up at practice are encouraging as a stretch 4 with his size would be tough for a lot of the MAC to deal with. At the end of the day, we stand with a great mid-major win, and a disappointing loss to a team we were an underdog against, one we clearly didn't play our best game. We will likely have more disappointing losses as the season goes on, it's the nature of college basketball. Lets just hope we start to gel so we can win a lot more than we lose!
  22. For the most part, walk ons who are deciding to hang it up after this year. They likely all have their degrees due to the extra year of Covid eligibility.
  23. I'll admit I didn't look and was going off of memory. I'd be skeptical how many of them were still recruiting him by the time he committed to Akron, as most offers were ~2 years earlier than that. Regardless of any of that, I root for any Zip who plays hard and shows good character, which both Tribble and Clarke do. I'm sure they both think they can and need to play better offensively.
