Maybe at one point, but I'm pretty sure we intentionally gave them FTs in a one score game with adequate time left to get a shot off after their possession.

I got into a little back and forth with another Zips fan at the end of that game. If my memory is correct, Groce was fouling when he didn't need to (it was still a 1 possession game with appropriate time left). Didn't make sense to me and still doesn't, but it worked out. Sweet watching X hit that game winner.

Agreed. Tavari excelled coming off the bench early in the season. Best for the team right now IMO.

We're getting solid games from Hunter and X, but basically nothing from anyone else on offense. More than 2 guys need to show up a night.

If we can get this Sammy Hunter consistently... Also, our defense just isn't as good as last year. Too many guy too slow on their rotations.

Hunter leading all scorers with 11 at the half. Nice to see Kobe hit a 3 and he played some good D on a few positions. Lyles hasn't played yet. Another random observation as I was sitting through another ugly start to a game - we only have 3 players from last year's team that contributed.

At least from my point of view, its because we knew we were going to get contributions from Freeman and X, but somebody else has to step up to be that go-to 3rd guy, or even a guy that can go off on any given night. Outside of a few games from Tavari, we haven't really gotten it from anyone. If he can do it consistently or some of the other players start to show some real promise, I don't think we make it past the semis in Cleveland.

Trying to get excited about this commit, but him recording zero stats in 2022 for a G5 (granted high powered passing G5 with good WRs) leaves me with questions I can’t find answers to. Seems like he did show a little something as a redshirt freshman though and had some pretty nice offers in HS. Also when I see a player doing pretty well at WKU who used to play for the Zips (Michael Mathison), and him not doing anything just feels kind of meh.

I think saying he is not signed is speculative.

I don’t know if it means anything or not, but everything on Coach Debo’s Twitter profile (which he is active on) still points to him being at Akron.

This game annoys me. Horrible flow thanks to the refs, peed down our leg at the end, yet we still probably win with X. This team still has a long ways to go with all that said. Need some guys to be something other than a body out there, at least show some flashes.

Could we have played any worse to close this out?
