  1. I'm a big believer of bowl or bust as well going forward, though any improvement in the W/L is welcomed after what we watched the past few seasons. Breaking down position groups from last year to this year so far: QB - same or better - banking on Irons improvement RB - better with the addition of Lingard. Lost no contributor. WR - similar or a little worse, with the loss of Shocky (and Grimes). Though Golden, Dakota Thomas, and Gathings have a lot of potential I think. OL - thus far worse. No transfer portal players brought in yet and a couple depth guys transferred out. If not addressed, we're banking heavily on current starters improving and and/or a few redshirt freshman which is a little risky. TE - same or better with all contributors returning. DL - I would say worse with the loss of Morton, Jones, and Harper. We've brought in Jones and Rabash. Neither have played at this level and Rabash was D2. No real young guys had a chance to show much this year. LB - same or better. Lost Boateng, but McCoy, Fish, and Griffin are exciting players who will continue to develop. CB - same or better. Lost Hooks, added Hunter. S - same or better. Lost nobody (not counting JKP as he was injured most of year). I like the trio of Woods, Thompson, and Martin. I think our weaknesses going into the offseason season are still weaknesses. Need an OL or 2 unless the staff is really high on the young guys, probably 2 more DL to be safe, and 1 or 2 more CBs. Though players always step up and contribute who you don't expect. Examples would probably be Lewis, McCoy, and Landers (only because he was a true freshman) just last year. Luckily it seems the staff seems to be on the same page with who has moved on and who we're offering, so I think most will be addressed. If so, 2023 should be a bowl season. We should be 4 scholarship players under the limit right now, so there is room. I also think there are more players we could afford to lose.
  2. What's your theory on the reasoning for the recent wave of players entering? I would have thought most would have entered after post season meetings with the players, and thought those would have happened in December. Additionally from a player standpoint, you would think you want to enter before the new semester started so you could enroll and participate in spring ball at your new place.
  3. Jester is now rated and is the highest ranked high school signee in our class per 247. https://247sports.com/player/david-jester-46056682/
  4. Bryce Wilson in the portal too. That loss has a little more impact than Fann, but he was relegated to a rotational player under Moorhead as well. I think we were all wanting some turnover on the OL and DL, and we are getting it. Looking forward to see who we can bring in...
  5. One of the guys I thought it would make sense for. He was in his 3rd or so year of school last year and wasn't able to sniff the field, even being a transfer from FSU.
  6. With Kent being the media darlings right now, I wouldn’t trust the voters to make the right choice. Let’s hope we can put an end to all the ranked talk and leave no doubt.
  7. Any info on a nee DL coach? Been a few weeks since it was first reported Debo was leaving. Figure nobody really wants to commit without knowing who their coach will be.
  8. Interesting and good discussion comparing the two teams. This team still has its issues, though some guys like Hunter starting to come along would play a big part in addressing them. One good thing I can say about this team that is we have no "bad" losses thus far. The WKU and SDSU win looked good on paper at the time. They aren't looking great but are still "OK" to good wins. Nevada is shockingly at the top of the Mountain West early. We probably should have beaten them.
  9. Who gives out contract extensions in the first half of a season? No one. Complaining about extensions/Guthrie is premature.
  10. Yeah this one is up there with Landers last year.
  11. That’s when we offered him too.
  12. No commitment tweeted yet, but looks like it could be David Jester.
  13. Perhaps news on a safety coming soon..
  14. You’re right. Tavari gets a lot of attention when talking about young players with potential, but Lyles contributes pretty solid as a big man true freshman.
  15. Good question. I noticed Tribble on him once. Assume it would have been Tribble or Hankerson.
  16. It’s official now. Bummer.
  17. Don’t look now but Hunter is really coming along.
  18. That was just this offseason!
  19. Heath ejected lmao
  20. This is fun. Also Bates sucks.
  21. Bringing the energy! Feels good to have the students back.
  22. Seems like a nice get for BG
  23. I think it started here down 51-49 with 1:37 left: 1:37Foul on Tyler Cheese.5149 Of course we have no way to confirm if it was intentional or not without video https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/playbyplay/_/gameId/401172680
  24. Good for Fessler. May be wrong, but I'd assume Joe Mo will still be calling the plays.
  25. Maybe at one point, but I'm pretty sure we intentionally gave them FTs in a one score game with adequate time left to get a shot off after their possession.
