A week+ past the Spring Game I thought we would hear of a TP Pick-up or three by now. Seems quiet out there (less the logo discussion). Irons appears to be the man unless something changes. I figured the focus would be on building a great offense and it was but I am mightily worried about the state of the defense that essentially allowed teams to score at will against us. Hope reinforcements are coming. We get real thin, real quick at QB2 and not much to be excited about in our DL and backfield IMO. Can this team be .500 or better as is?

...and when the Z came out most hated that too.... People don't like change. I think its a great logo. An Akron A makes sense (love the subtle Z incorporation). Look at the Division I logos and they are predominately Letters representing the name of the school OR a picture representing the mascot. None are a letter representing the mascot alone. The stand alone Z did nothing to identify The University of Akron to me. Go AKRON!!! Go ZIPS!!!

With the deadline to enter the portal, I'd be willing to bet they had the honest conversation about going another direction and I'm hoping that conversation also included the news of brining someone in, that made him jump. Not that you want to lose a quality backup (as some on this board was pretty high on him back earlier this year) but I would think this is an indication someone is coming in to compete with Irons. The question is, who?
