The quotes in this article....about Richie Laryea...are absolutely glowing there are so many quotes that I am not allowed to post all of them.... please click on the article....and read about former Zip Richie https://wakingthered.com/2025/08/31/20909/osorio-was-the-goal-hero-but-laryea-vilsaint-play-big-hand-in-toronto-fc-draw-with-cf-montreal/ CanMNT and TFC veteran Richie Laryea occupied the role of a center-back, instead of his usual role at full-back. However, Laryea was everywhere, making deep runs all the way to the CFMTL box, and sometimes controlling possession as an advanced No. 8. “Richie has become, for us, wherever we need somebody, for whatever reason, he just goes there, and he’s excelled in everything I’ve asked him to do,” (head coach) Fraser said. “And I’ve asked him to do probably six or seven different things this year.” Goalscorer and the man of the moment, Osorio, was also full of praise for Laryea, acknowledging that people might already know how good he is, but Laryea may not be getting the proper respect he deserves. “I can’t speak highly enough about that guy,” Osorio said. “He is an unbelievable competitor, an unbelievable footballer. He plays where he’s told to play, and he does the job. I think a lot of people know how good he is, but actually, I think even he deserves even more respect than he actually gets. Because that guy is a top-level player.”

TennZip replied to Zip_ME87's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
https://unitedsoccercoaches.org/rankings/college-rankings/ncaa-di-men/ The United Soccer Coaches have released their most current vote....and they say that the number 16 ranked Zips will host the number 10 ranked Moutaineers this FRiday night. Are the coaches correct? Will both of these 2 teams be receiving a top 16 bye when the NCAA tournament begins in November? -

Caleb Borneo and Jack Sullivan and Remi Agunbiade , to me, were the bright spots in tonight's game. Borneo always seemed to be around the ball in the 2nd half. -

The Beacon Journal has done an outstanding job of honoring the incomparable Stu Parry. https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/sports/college/zips/2025/08/22/akron-zips-soccer-caleb-porter-stu-parry-mls-new-england-revolution-portland-timbers-columbus-crew/85745054007/ "Stu Parry is the godfather of the Akron men's soccer program," Caleb Porter told the Akron Beacon Journal on Aug. 19 regarding Parry, who died Aug. 15 at the age of 92. "He is the founder. I had a great relationship with him. I had a close relationship with him. He was one of the first people that called me when I got the job [at the age of 31] and we were having lunch maybe two days later. "He was a mentor to me," Porter said. "I really made a point every season to have him talk to the team because I wanted the current players to understand the founder and who he was. It is very important when you have a tradition of excellence that the current players understand they are a part of something a lot bigger than themselves. I felt it was important that they understood the man that started the program because Akron soccer didn't just fall out of the sky and become a national contender. He is the one that started it and paved the way.
