TennZip Posted May 13 Report Posted May 13 (edited) I am going to try to update the known schedule on the first post.......so all of us can go to this first post ....and see the most up to date view of what has been announced I have filled in the day of the week....after the team name The Big East schedule starts on Sept. 18th....and continues for 7 weeks after that Exhibition season First exhibition game - August 8th Home game against Michigan (SAT) zips normally play 2 or 3 exhibition games Regular season will start on Thursday August 20th August 20 Dayton (THURS) August 24 Army (MON) August 28 Wake Forest (FRIDAY) September 3 at West Virginia (THURS) September 12 at St. Louis (SAT) September 18 Butler (BE) (FRIDAY) September 25 Georgetown (BE) (FRIDAY) Friday October 2nd or Saturday October 3 - Big East road game at DePaul (Villanova plays UConn on October 2nd) October 11 Creighton (BE) (SUNDAY) Friday October 16th or Saturday October 17 - Big East Road game at Providence (providence plays g'town on Oct 2 and seton Hall on Oct 31) October 20 at Cleveland State (TUESDAY) October 24 Xavier (BE) (SAT) Friday October 30th or Saturday October 31 - Big East road game at Villanova November 6 at Marquette (BE) if the zips have 17 games on their schedule., I think that we probably know their 17 opponents 11 regular season opponents with known schedule date Big East games to be played against teams that have not announced their schedules 1 thru 3.....Providence, Villanova, and DePaul on the road...by looking at schedules for Georgetown, Seton Hall and U Conn, I was able to see which teams were unavailable on October 2 and October 16 and October 30 Home non conference games that have been mentioned by coaches 4 thru 6..... Cornell, Syracuse and Robert Morris... All of you can probably look at the gaps in the schedule and guess when the 3 remaining home games might be... (probably between Sep. 3 and Sep. 12 ; maybe between DePaul and Creighton games ; 4th game ???) go, Zips... The Creighton Blue Jays will be playing at Akron on October 11. https://gocreighton.com/news/2026/5/11/mens-soccer-unveils-2026-schedule Edited Wednesday at 05:06 PM by TennZip one place to provide current schedule Quote

Zips1991 Posted May 13 Report Posted May 13 Looks like it's that time of the year where I have to start keeping a tentative schedule until the official schedule is announced. Quote
NWAkron Posted May 13 Report Posted May 13 So in 2027 soccer will be two semester sport. I'm sure there will be big crowds in February. Quote

I thought the reason for the Fall/Spring season was so teams didn’t have to play midweek games. 18-20 game regular season could be better accommodated over 2 semesters. 1 Quote
TennZip Posted May 13 Author Report Posted May 13 (edited) Here is an ESPN article about the change they make the change for men's soccer. Yeah, it seems like if you're gonna do two semesters, you should stop like around Halloween. Split it up a little more evenly. I don't know, I guess we'll get used to it after a couple years. Quote

But women's soccer stays the same??? https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/48761056/ncaa-mens-college-soccer-d1-schedule-change-fall-spring ...Teams will be allowed to play 18 matches from late August until the Saturday before Thanksgiving and up to 10 matches from mid-February until the start of the NCAA Tournament. Specific dates for the postseason will be determined later. ... I guess I hadn't really thought too much about the actual schedule possibilities with 2 semester soccer. looking at the 2027-28 calendar, 14-15 regular season games seem possible without midweek games in Fall 2027; 7-8 seem possible in the Spring with the NCAAT starting no later than the 2nd weekend in April to complete in early May August: 2-3 Saturdays (3 if mid; 2 if late August) September: 4 Saturdays October: 5 Saturdays November: 3 Saturdays (prior to Thanksgiving) February: 3 Saturdays March: 4 Saturdays April: 1 Saturday The article doesn't mention when the NCAAT would begin, but to complete by early May, it seems it would have to start in early April Edited May 14 by Zip_ME87 Quote
Blue & Gold Posted May 14 Report Posted May 14 February soccer in Ohio? 🫣 Is this going to hurt our recruiting? I know I wouldn't want to play outdoor soccer in February or most of March. Quote
