  1. hopefully, since this topic is about roster changes...this is the best place to post very nice photo of Chino and a nice writeup Best wishes to this nice young man...very happy for him that his family will get to see him so many games http://www.uicflames.com/news/2017/2/1/mens-soccer-adds-three-in-spring-semester.aspx
  2. On a positive, upbeat note, I love the twitter photos of the recruits being shown as off the ground and all looking very athletic. Very creative....and of course, I love the packed grandstand in the background. and thank you to Coach Embick and his staff and the SID for getting this info out on Feb. 2nd and of course giving us hope that more athletes will be coming in the upcoming months I know that all of us got spoiled in the pre generation adidas and pre homegrown years when akron was signing 5 top 25 kids. It is important to remember from last year's group of new players...that Jonathan Lewis was not anywhere to be found in top drawer soccer or college soccer news top 50 or top 100 lists. Those 2 websites don't always get it right. It is safe to say that Coach Embick and his staff know soccer talent and have forgotten more about soccer than some of the writers rating talent for top drawer soccer. Also, remember that Ben Lundt was a last minute sign from a soccer college that does not have a stellar pedigree. On this date, I am thankful that the signing info was released within the first 2 days of the signing day and I want to wish a warm welcome to the 7 freshman and Morgan Hackworth. You have all come to a college with many fans that love Akron soccer.
  3. very important sentence in the release Embick anticipates the addition of several student-athletes to the Zips' 2017 signing later in the spring, please follow GoZips.com to further details.

  18. http://section215.com/2017/01/23/philadelphia-union-look-to-aquire-the-rights-for-adam-najem/ You can not ask for a better first paragraph....where Akron....is described as the holy grail of college soccer development What I’m referring to is the Philadelphia Union’s recruitment of homegrown player Adam Najem. For those who don’t know, Najem is a highly rated member of the New York Red Bull’s academy who has graduated from Akron, the holy grail of college soccer development. Having produced talents such as DeAndre Yedlin, Perry Kitchen, Darlington Nagbe, and Will Trapp among others, Najem is in good company.
  19. Chris, great job....finding that breaking news here is article from red bull fan site http://www.onceametro.com/2017/1/23/14354980/rumor-new-york-red-bulls-trade-adam-najem-mls-rights-to-philadelphia-union
  20. super that DeAndre had such a great game thanks for finding the highlights and tweets and sharing
  21. http://www.pittsburghpanthers.com/sports/m-soccer/spec-rel/011317aab.html comments from Robby on why he chose Pitt...and nice comments from Vidovich Robby Dambrot / D / Akron, Ohio / The University of Akron Had a standout junior campaign, appearing in 21 games including eight starts ... Played a major role in the Zips' 2015 run in the NCAA Tournament, as Akron fell in the College Cup to eventual champion, Stanford ... Made NCAA Tournament appearance all three years at Akron. Dambrot on why he chose Pitt: "I chose Pitt because of the great coaching staff and the competition in the ACC. I think I bring a lot of experience after being at a very competitive program at Akron, so I know what it takes to build a competitive culture. I hope my experiences can help get things going here at Pitt and we can start something special." Vidovich on Dambrot: "Robby is another player that brings experience after spending time at Akron, a highly respected program. He can get up and down the line, has a tremendous work rate and left foot. I think he will be a great help for us with the foreign players since he knows what college soccer is all about. He knows what it's like trying to compete for the top trophy, what it's like to train everyday with top players and play against the best teams in the country. He will be a big part of our future."
