  8. http://gozips.com/sports/msoc/2016-17/releases/20160918jsy3xs 9 pm eastern time start this team returns most of their starters from a final 16 team this year's results are not that good....but it is always tough to win on the road..... SMU players have probably targeted Akron as a revenge game since the schedule came out and we all remember that Stuart was an absolute beast in that November SMU game.... Jon Lewis, Skye Harter, Marcel Zajac and Ezana Kahsay ......will all need to play well
  9. Ohio State moved to 2-1 in the Big Ten with a 3-1 win over Rutgers highly ranked Indiana played to a 0-0 tie with Northwestern (NW lost last weekend to tOSU) Western Michigan moved to 6-1-0 with a 3-2 win over Eastern Illinois (WMU plays at Michigan this wednesday....hopefully, the MAC team can get a win in that one) S. Florida ended with a 3-0 win over Buffalo (match called at 81 minutes due to lightning)
  10. only 4,100 in attendance last night at Cal Santa Barbara-wild game...UCSB called for a foul with 5 seconds left in game and 1-0 lead Ref stopped the clock and UCLA scored on free kick to send game to OT with 26 minutes left in the game today, South Florida leads Buffalo 3-0 (Russell Cicerone has not attempted a shot...I think he prefers playing against Daemen ??? )
  11. http://rpiupdatemenssoccer.blogspot.com/search/label/RPI Rank I had not looked for this before today... not sure when the legendary Gaucho Dan starts calculating this... zips showing as #8...with a #24 strength of schedule(SOS) and opponents having a #35 SOS Mighty North Carolina at #28 with an SOS of 154 West Virginia at #24 and Buffalo at #25 Stanford at 41 and san diego State at #42 and Cal Santa barbara at 56 georgetown at 58 ; seattle at 22 two future zip opponents...penn state at 132 and Ohio State at 160 tomorrow's zip opponent...SMU....started the year in the top 15 in most national polls... they are #139 in the RPI
  12. UCLA def. Cal Santa Barbara 2-1 in overtime San diego State is now 4-0-2 after tieing Cal Poly 0-0 (Cal Poly now 1-4-1) Georgetown improved to 2-5 with 1-0 win over Providence (now 4-3-0) West Virginia is now 4-1-1 after a 3-0 win over George Mason #6 Clemson and #23 Virginia 3-3 after 110 minutes Bowling Green dropped to 5-2-0 after losing 1-0 to Cincinnati (now 3-3-0) Michigan at Michigan State game today is on big ten network from 12-2 eastern and Buffalo actually plays a decent team today...at S. Florida
  13. Congratulations to a very good coach
  14. The next zip opponent....SMU....dropped to 2-5-0 as they lost 1-0 at home to Santa Clara (now 4-2-0)
  15. http://www.gozips.com/sports/msoc/2016-17/files/TLSM0916bs.pdf box score only shows Nick Hinds with a yellow card at 89 minutes The announcers said he had another yellow at 74 minutes box score shows that Niko got a yellow at 74 minutes Zips definitely will need Nick Hinds at SMU so I am very glad to see that the Tulsa announcers were incorrect
  16. Ken Lolla's team had a very nice win tonight as they defeated top drawer soccer's #1 team (Notre Dame) 1-0 in front of 4,043 in Louisville Notre Dame had been 6-0-0 Louisville improved to 5-1-1(their loss was to KY and they tied a very good Butler team) N. Carolina def. Pittsburgh 1-0 and Syracuse defeated Boston College 2-0
  17. zips win 2-1 zips got conservative toward the end...and tulsa guy beat 2 defenders and earned a penalty kick... that made it 1-1 at 85 minutes Brad Ruhaak threaded a pass into the middle and Ezana one touched it around the 88 minutes mark for the winner announcers were saying that Nick Hinds got 2nd yellow card at 89 minute mark...but did not seem to leave the field tulsa player whacked an akron player at 89:18 and got a red card zips had no rhythm or pattern tonight....they did not control possession like they normally do. Very hard game to follow as the camera was pretty far away. Adam did not seem to get a lot of touches tonight. However, if you had told me at the beginning of the year that the zips would go 3-0-0 against Oregon State, Cal Santa Barbara and Tulsa...without Victor souto, Stuart Holthusen and Sam Gainford only playing about 20 minutes total in the 3 games, I would have a hard time seeing that. I know that we are all hoping that Stuart will be back healthy very soon.
  18. GOAL ZIPS great free kick by Skye Harter well placed header from Shane Wiedit
  19. camera person is awful so far
  20. I think that the akron web site had time wrong.... I think it is 8 pm central......not 8 eastern
  21. I was really hoping to see Victor Souto in the starting lineup tonight. Victor is a smart, unselfish player who really battles in the midfield. I became a huge fan of Victor after reading his blogs from the Brazilian trip. He is a great student athlete and his Brazilian blogs showed that truly loves his Brazilian family and his Akron family.
  22. http://tulsahurricane.com/news/2016/9/15/tulsa-mens-soccer-team-hosts-16-akron-and-santa-clara-this-week.aspx looks like there will be a cost to watch tomorrow night's video Fans unable to attend the match in person can watch it live on TulsaHurricane.com/watch. There is a 24HR Pass, a Monthly Pass and Yearly Pass that allow you to watch all TU home men's and women's soccer, volleyball and softball games depending on the package purchased. looks like it is $6.95 for 24 hours
  23. VCU dropped to 1-5-0 as they lost 3-0 to Virginia Michigan State improved to 4-1-0 after a 1-0 win at Oakland Michigan dropped to 0-4-2 after losing 2-0 to Indiana West virginia is tied 0-0 with Maryland Baltimore county after 90 minutes
