  1. http://www.wvusports.com/page.cfm?story=30164&cat=exclusives above is the WVU press release this is the paragraph...where Travis Clark....deduces that Akron, W. VA , Seattle and Georgetown are playing in a 4 team tourney The season officially begins with a pair of games against teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament Third Round a season ago. Playing in Akron, Ohio, WVU begins the year against Seattle on Friday, Aug. 26 before facing Georgetown on Sunday, Aug. 28. The Mountaineers are on the road for the final four matches of the regular season. The roadtrip begins at Akron on Friday, Oct. 21. A perennial national championship contender, Akron advanced to the NCAA College Cup a year ago.
  2. Akron obviously has not released their schedule yet West Virginia announced their schedule today West Virginia plays at akron on October 21. However, the exciting news....is that it looks like Akron will be playing Georgetown and Seattle on August 26 and August 28 Travis Clark tweeted this message

  4. http://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2016/04/28/naivete-caleb-porter-how-he-reinvented-himself-and-his-team I thought this was worth a separate topic. I was glad to see Darlington Nagbe able to return last night and play against the Revs

  6. http://gozips.com/sports/msoc/2015-16/releases/20160424o5qlfy Stuart must still be injured? Ezana has done well in the spring
  7. http://www.onceametro.com/2016/4/21/11461056/nyrbii-and-academy-roundup-najem-simpara-diving-and-more-usl the newspaper covering the new york red bulls...has another article that mentions Adam....and I really like Adam's post above (thanks, Nate for posting) In some possibly more positive news for the Red Bulls, Adam Najem is not going to Europe, at least for the moment that is. Najem was reportedly leaving Akron after his junior to pursue opportunities in Europe, however, this appears to have come to nothing. Then, on Saturday, Najem reappeared, standing in street clothes at a Zips spring game. In tweets that have since been deleted, local Akron sports reporters stated that Najem will be returning to the Zips for the 2017 season. The tweets' deletion leaves Najem's status still up in the air, but it appears he is leaning towards a return to the States.
  8. not sure if this is the right topic...but I posted ztv's tweet the other day in this topic... and I agree with Katie King....about the exciting news

  12. Garber, at least, seems to have some common sense. Bruce Arena definitely raised some blood pressure with his comments. Best wishes, Darlington, for a fast recovery from this vicious foul. http://www.espnfc.com/major-league-soccer/story/2850753/mls-to-ban-nigel-de-jong-for-darlington-nagbe-tackle--garber

  22. the zips actual sports web site....actually has an article on the next 2 spring games....alas, they don't even mention that the games were originally scheduled for Saturday night in Akron. I will be kind and say that I have seen much better sports info directors than the SID for Akron mens soccer. I guess he must think that all Akron soccer games religiously check the zips soccer twitter account?
