  1. zips were #5 last week ; they are #3 this week http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/soccer-men/d1/ncaa-mens-soccer-rpihas there ever been a team in the top 25 for RPI...that has not made the NCAA tourney ? (Louisville could do it this year) Western Michigan is up to #56 in the RPI will be interesting to see where the NCAA seeds Denver (the only team without a loss)...Denver is #18 in the RPI
  2. David Suntup on the video said that Embick told him...that he was letting Danilo Radjen recover from an unspecified injury for one more game and that Danilo would be ready for the MAC tourney. That being said, I was very glad to see Coach Embick give Alonzo Clarke the opportunity as a center back. For whatever reason, Brad and Andrew have not clicked this year as center backs. Andrew has really done well on the outside ....shutting down the outside forwards and he has done well on the offensive side. I also was quite impressed with how well that Alonzo Clarke played. I think that he is going to be a major contributor for the zips. Stuart Holthusen was one of the few bright spots in the UCLA game as he stepped up in Richie's absence and he seemed to carry his confidence forward into the BG game. Like many others on this board, I am so happy with the tremendous strides that Victor Souto has made this year. Victor's passion and will to win is unmatched. He plays an unsung position but his value to the team can not be understated. I hope that Victor can help share some of the many things that he has learned with Richie Laryea to help Richie stay yellow card free....the remainder of the year
  3. Who do you have as the #3 seed? Stanford? Stanford could easily lose to Cal this week (Cal has a win over Washington, and the huskies defeated Stanford; and Cal has a win over UCLA). Still lots of soccer to be played this week. If Notre Dame and Syracuse upset Wake and Clemson, the NCAA seeding committee will have a really tough time. If Creighton comes back and beats Georgetown this week, who knows where Creighton will end up. There is tremendous parity this year in college soccer. I would like to see Maryland win the big ten and Georgetown win the Big East as those will help the zips case for seeding.
  4. Gaucho Dan has the zips moving up to #3 in the rpi with N. Carolina being eliminated from the ACC tourney Maryland moved up to 28 to 23...with their win today...so that helped the zips with top 25 bonue points RPI SCHOOL W L D SOS OSS 3 1 Wake Forest 15 1 2 2 1 4 2 Clemson 15 1 2 8 2 5 3 Akron 13 3 2 12 25 6 4 North Carolina 14 1 3 19 3 7 5 Stanford 13 2 2 54 9 8 6 Georgetown 13 2 2 22 16 9 7 Notre Dame 10 3 5 6 5 10 8 Seattle 16 3 0 51 62 11 9 Creighton 16 2 0 85 45 12 10 Syracuse 11 5 3 5 10 13 11 Ohio State 11 5 2 13 31

  12. wow......you are challenging my google search skills looks like Zach won first place in the 6th grade turkey trot (bottom of page 2 ) in October 2014 so I am guessing he is 13 now and in 7th grade http://www.smfschools.org/application/files/8714/3930/2047/Chew_on_this_October_2014.pdf
  13. http://medinagazette.northcoastnow.com/2015/03/18/johnny-futbol/This young man from Medina sounds like he will be playing in Europe and then hopefully he will help the US Mens National team down the road. The article above is from March 2015. If he decides to go to college, I would imagine that he would be a "perry kitchen" type.
  14. Gaucho Dan is amazing.... he has Georgetown moving up to #6.....after their win today (Akron is still at #4 and Stanford is still at #5) Gaucho Dan has Creighton dropping to #8 in the RPI unrelated....we all remember Akron playing Marquette in 2013....Marquette has fallen on hard soccer times... Marquette lost today to DePaul and Marquette is 5-10-2 this year
  15. Final from Thursday afternoon Georgetown (#6 in coaches poll) 2 Creighton(#3 in coaches poll) 1 Gaucho Dan had Creighton at #6 in RPI and he had Georgetown at #10 in the RPI before the game will be interesting to see where he has them....after he adds in this result..... Creighton clearly does not deserve to be one of the top 4 teams when the NCAA does the draw akron winning at Georgetown and Creighton losing at Georgetown.....should factor heavily in the NCAA seeding committee decision
  16. http://www.collegesoccernews.com/index.php/recuiting/high-school-prospects/838-class-of-2017-high-school-juniorsa defender from Medina, OH.....listed as the 2nd best high school junior in the entire country ? Would love to see him playing for the home team in a few years at Cub Cadet field
  17. Indiana 4 Michigan State 1...mich. state drops to 2-4-2 in bT....IU moves to 4-3-1 Ohio State 3 Michigan 1 (OSU improves to 5-2-1 in BT, Michigan drops to 3-3-2) Maryland 3 Rutgers 1....MD improves to 3-2-3 in league...rutgers finished 4-4 ACC round of 16- syracuse 2 NC State 0...they play UNC on Sunday Louisville 2 Duke 1...Louisville plays Wake Forest on Sunday
  18. good article from sports illustated http://www.si.com/planet-futbol/2015/11/04/darlington-nagbe-portland-timbers-mls-playoffs-usmnt-caleb-porter
  19. If Georgetown loses twice to Creighton, even if the NCAA would not have the gall to seed Georgetown ahead of Akron (with Akron having a head to head win on G'Town's home field). That being said, the zips need to put up wins over Bowling Green , West Virginia and an excellent Western Michigan team before we can even consider NCAA seedings. Hopefully, Richie and Danilo Radjen are back on the field for the BG game.
  20. Akron dropped from #6 to #10 in the coaches ranking SMU has steadily climbed into the top 10.....Maryland and Cal Santa Barbara have both fallen out of the top 25 http://www.nscaa.com/rankings/4849/NCAADivisionI/men/Poll10
  21. http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/soccer-men/d1/ncaa-mens-soccer-rpiCreighton plays at Georgetown this Thursday afternoon. I hope that one of those teams win the regular season match and that the other team wins when they play in the big East tourney. Stanford plays at Washington tonight. when those 2 teams played at Stanford, they played to a scoreless tie. Bowling Green at 113 in this week's RPI. However, if I remember correctly, Ohio State scored with 4 seconds left in the 2nd OT to defeat BG. The zips need to get off to a fast start on Saturday night.
  22. quotes from Coach Embick in the Beacon Journal The Bruins maintained possession throughout the match at a much higher percentage than the Mid-American Conference opponents the Zips typically face at this point in the season. “It reminds you that you can’t be reactive, you’ve got to be proactive,” UA coach Jared Embick said of facing a team with UCLA’s style of play. “You’ve got to be focus and have concentration for 90 minutes. “The intensity level and speed of the game was a lot higher than the other games we’ve been playing lately, and when you don’t play those [types of matches] in a couple of weeks, you kind of look like [we did today.]” “I thought we over-celebrated the goal and we lost our momentum,” Embick said of the goal that tied the match 2-2. “I think we zapped ourselves with too much energy and emotion and we never really recovered from that. “To their credit, they have players up top that are difficult to handle. If you can’t have the energy and intensity required, then they’re going to have some moments and in those moments they punished us and we weren’t able to get [the momentum] back.”
  23. Notre Dame has too many ties against teams with less than impressive records. If they beat Virginia and lose in the semis, there is no way that they get a top 4 seed. link below to ACC draw http://www.theacc.com/page/championship_m-soccer
  24. 25. Is Danilo Radjen injured? It is very hard for an outside DB to move back to the Center as Andrew has been asked to do today.
