  1. Friday September 4 Creighton game is still going on... Number 5 Georgetown 3 Number 10 Oregon State 0 #18 Clemson 1 Syracuse 0 #20 Cornell 2 #21 Cal Santa Barbara 1 Lindenwood 2 Butler 0 Providence 3 Harvard 1 Robert Morris 2 St. Bonaventure 0 Seton Hall 1 Rutgers 0 Xavier 2 Bowling Green 0
  2. I know that when I saw the Zips schedule, I immediately said that the game at St. Louis would be the toughest non conference game on the schedule. After looking at the box score tonight for #20 Cornell hosting #21 Cal Santa Barbara, I am now convinced that Cornell will be the toughest game on the non conference schedule. Cornell started the seaon on August 29 with a 3-0 win over Marist. Tonight, Cornell hosted Cal Santa Barbara. Cal Santa Barbara has their best team in many, many years. Cal Santa Barbara(UCSB) has not had the best luck in getting wins....but the statistics say that they have been dominant against Excellent teams. UCSB played historic top 10 team Marshall. The game ended in a 1-1 tie. UCSB dominated the stats. SB led 25-9 in shots ; 7-5 in SOG and 10-3 in corner kicks. In their next big match, UCSB played #2 ranked San Diego. Again, the game ended in a 1-1 tie. However, again, the Gauchos led 21-11 in shots and 5-2 in SOG. San Diego did lead 4-2 in corner kicks. San Diego's only goal came on a PK so it appears that UCSB dominated the run of the play. Well, what happened tonight ...when the Gauchos traveled to Cornell? Cornell won 2-1 . The statistics are unbelievably dominant for Cornell(especially considering UCSB's prior ranked matchups) Cornell led 20-4 in shots Cornell led 6-2 in SOG last but not least...Cornell led 12-0 in corner kicks Zips fans need to rush to First Energy Stadium on Tuesday night. They are going to see great soccer on Tuesday night.

  5. sure does not look promising ....that this game will get to finish.... weather looks and sounds ominous another lightning delay after only 1:40 of play in the 2nd half....
  6. they just showed stats for first 30 minutes WVA 7-2 in shots and 3-1 in corners..... Akron has not had the typical amount of ball possession halftime....will only last 8 minutes
  7. Lightning delay ...after 30 minutes of play Zips 1-0 on a great corner kick by Tyler Morck....and great finish by Matthew Paiva Brett Kaminski made a good save after the zips had scored. WVA has had good game plan and has possessed a lot of ball.

  13. The Wake Forest website has a very thorough write up on the game. https://godeacs.com/news/2026/8/28/mens-soccer-wake-forest-falls-to-no-10-akron-1-0 FROM COACH MUUSS "That was a tough result. I think the guys competed for 90 minutes. They fought. We showed characteristics that maybe we haven't shown in the past, which is grit and grind, and that's not being disrespectful to former teams. We were just at a different level tonight, the way they tracked back in transition and hunted the ball was so good. I'm so proud of them. Jonah had a great game tonight, and just one mistake cost us the match. Maybe there were things that we could have done prior to that through ball getting in. I'm gutted for the group because of the way we conceded. I'm not gutted for the group for the way they competed. If we continue to compete like that and we continue to grow and get better, this group can be special."
  14. Attendance of 2,260 great job turning out, zips fans !!!

  16. Friday August 28 Number 8 St. Louis and Notre Dame battled to 1-1 tie Number 21 UNC-Greensboro and West Virginia finished in a 1-1 result Iona 0 Seton Hall 0 Providence 3 LIU 2 Dayton 5 Detroit Mercy 1 Princeton 1 Villanova 1 Mercyhurst 2 Cleveland State 1 Syracuse 2 Loyola (MD) 0
  17. Akron clearly was the better team. The players battled for every loose ball. I thought that Tyler Morck had a very strong game. Farrell Ngongang really battled in the box and cleared a lot of open space for his teammates. 3 straight shutouts for the back 4 and Brett. The ZIPs should be very proud of the effort and the execution tonight.

  19. I won't be excited until they do a Darlington Nagbe bobblehead for season ticket holders. DNag is an absolute Akron zip legend....and season ticket holders would love a Nagbe bobblehead.
