  1. Thursday night Lindenwood 1 N. Illinois 1 Friday Night Princeton 2 Penn State 1 (really good night for Ivies as Yale def. West Virginia 2-1) Ohio State 2 Butler 0 Pitt 1 N. Carolina 0 W. Michigan 3 Northwestern 0 UIC 2 Chicago State 0 BGSU 1 Mich. State 1
  2. Their field is an embarassment. They had to cancel home game on September 3rd due to an unplayable field. That being said, the zips had energy for 10 minutes.....and then Indiana had the better of ball possession. Zips need to do a better job in the 2nd half of getting the ball to Malik Henry.
  3. No, you can pay $9.95 for one month subscription to just follow IU or you can $14.95 for one month conference pass...and you can see Akron at IU tonight and Akron at Penn State on sept. 25 I just paid my $14.95
  4. Top Drawer Soccer correctly identifies the Zips and the Hoosiers as a marquee matchup this weekend game available for streaming on Big Ten Plus https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soccer-articles/mens-preview-9-8:-5-games-to-watch_aid51221
  5. Tuesday Night action Indiana 1 St. Johns 0 Florida International 2 North Florida 0 Duquesne 2 James Madison 0 Duquesne is 4-0 after tonight. They started their season with an impressive 1-0 win over Michigan. 1-0 win over Canisius and 2-1 win over Robert Morris. 1 goal allowed in 4 games.
  6. I would rather have a Darlington Nagbe bobblehead.....in place of a scarf. You will probably need to address your scarf question to the athletic director.
  7. I sure am hoping that Gyuwon Chong was not seriously hurt tonight. His lower leg took a nasty hit when the MSU player deservedly got a yellow. Chong made a great step in steal/interception and he then made a great unselfish assist to Fitz for the first goal. speedy recovery wishes for Gyuwon. He is good with the ball at his feet and he is good at finding open space. I can not say enough good things about Joel Sangwa. His ball distribution out of the back is outstanding. He is also everywhere defensively. Great job by the coaches in recruiting Sangwa and Chong…from unlikely sources….community college in Iowa and Non soccer powerhouse Temple.
  8. Beacon article https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/sports/college/zips/2022/09/06/10th-ranked-akron-mens-soccer-shuts-out-michigan-state-to-remain-undefeated-thanks-to-early-goal/65468524007/
  9. Monday night Western Michigan 2 Wisconsin 1 Bowling Green and Michigan 0-0 Ohio State 2 Wright State 0 penn State 3 George Mason 1 N. Illinois 3 Milwaukee 2 Pittsburgh 5 Howard 0 Bellarmine 2 Chicago State 1
  10. Playing time must be found for Ashton Kamdem. Even though he is left footed (preference), Ashton also made 2 excellent entry passes into the box….while Ashton was playing out of position as a right back. Ashton has a nose for the goal and his left footed screamer was spectacular. When Malik Henry is 100 percent healthy and 100 percent fit, I want to see Malik Henry playing the full 90 minutes at right defensive back. Malik Henry is spectacular and provides great quality service into the box. Left defensive back is Ashton Kamdem’s natural position. I would like to see Ashton Kamdem starting for the zips at left back.
  11. Spartans come into Monday night game with a 1-2 record. 2-1 season opening win over Army 3-2 loss to Notre Dame 1-0 loss to Western Michigan
  12. Thursday night w. Michigan 1. Michigan state 0 ohio state 1 bowling green 0 detroit 2 Chicago state 1 northern Illinois and Bradley 2-2
  13. DeAndre is Great. In the historical discussion of right backs, Kofi Sarkodie has to be in the conversation. Zip nation will always remember Kofi’s game winning goal against Michigan in the 2010 semis.
  14. In the coaches poll, Akron went from not ranked to #14 in the country I was amazed by Stanford's jump. Not ranked in the preseason poll. #3 now in regular season poll. https://unitedsoccercoaches.org/rankings/college-rankings/ncaa-di-men/
  15. Portland played at Indiana last night....and came away with a 3-3 tie. It sure looks like Portland got "homered". Portland was called for 29 fouls and was given 7 yellow cards. The home team was called for 3 fouls and 1 yellow card.
  16. Congratulations to Blair Gavin https://www.massivereport.com/platform/amp/2022/8/29/23327424/columbus-crew-assistant-blair-gavin-hired-as-fc-tulsa-head-coach-mls-2022
  17. early scores from Monday night from NCAA.com #7 Pittsburgh with an impressive 3-0 win over #6 West Virginia. Pitt beat Georgetown in first game. They have been super impressive. Florida International bounced back with a 1-0 win over St. John's at 82:50 , Notre Dame leads Michigan State 3-1 (update - Notre Dame ended up winning 3-2) at 73:48, Cleveland State trails UIC 1-0 (update - nice comeback..Cleveland State ended up winning 2-1)

  22. go zips !!! zips had 3 returning All MAC selections from Last year Dyson Clapier, Ryan Kingsford and Malik Henry Only Dyson is in starting lineup
