2 starters on the 2010 national championship....are part of the candidate group for attacking midfielder Ampai and Scotty......have to compete with Adam Najem and Morgan Hackworth for a spot on the all decade team
-
7 positions voted on...so far.... and not one single member of the 2010 National Championship has been deemed worthy (by the twitter universe) of a spot on the all decade team. Chad Barson, who memorably and heroically cleared the ball off the line late in the title game....finished 4th in the voting for right center back Perry Kitchen, who was an absolute beast in 2010...and one of the greatest college freshman that I have ever seen...finished 3rd in the voting for defensive midfielder It will be an absolute shame....if Darlington Nagbe is not voted to the All Decade team 2010 team, you are loved and respected.....by so many fans. Very sorry that you are not being properly honored in this voting.

looks like a beautiful day for soccer for the zips...by one of the Pittsburgh rivers from what I can garner from twitter....the zips and the USL Riverhounds played to a 2-2 tie
-
was not sure....where to post this Liam Curran was the zips goal keeper coach for the 2010 national champions (GK coach from 2010 to 2012) Very talented coach...and was part of a great coaching staff in 2010. Liam started off in 2016 working for the Atlanta United Academy... then moved to the USL Atlanta team and will now get to work with Brad Guzan and others as he is now the MLS Atlanta team goal keeper coach Congratulations, Liam and thanks for all that you did for the zips from 2010 to 2012

Top Drawer Soccer(TDS) seems pretty confident about their "source" I had been very much looking forward to seeing Jason Shokalook on the pitch in the fall of 2021. TDS is now saying that Jason will join the zips in the fall of 2020. Tremendous news. Welcome, Jason. https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soccer-articles/recruiting-views:-transfers-on-the-move_aid47695 Shokalook reclassifies to 2020 While Akron recently unveiled four additions to the 2020 roster, a source confirmed to TopDrawerSoccer that Jason Shokalook has reclassified and will also join this year. A prolific goal-scorer for Internationals SC during the past two seasons – Shokalook scored 31 goals in 24 games for the Ohio side in 2018-19, and has eight from just four games played during the current campaign. There’s no guarantee of first-year success, and Shokalook won’t have to be the guy right away. With both David Egbo and Will Jackson back up front for Akron, it means that he can ease his way into the picture. But finishing enough was an issue for the Zips, so the more he can add as a freshman, the better.

I suspect that DeAndre will win the vote for right back...based on what he has accomplished in the pros. If I could vote (not on twitter)....I would cast my vote for Kofi Sarkodie. This vote should be for how great that they were in college.... Soccer America chose Kofi Sarkodie as the best college soccer player in America in 2010 (they chose him over a guy named Darlington Nagbe) Kofi and Darlington were both selected as first team all americans DeAndre was at Akron as a freshman and sophomore and he learned and improved during his time at Akron. Kofi was an absolutely phenomenal right back in the national championship year of 2010. https://gozips.com/news/2010/12/24/12_24_2010_6156.aspx https://gozips.com/news/2010/12/12/12_12_2010_6149.aspx

time to vote on the right backs

I like that alignment much better than the 4-3-3....that they are asking us to use.... Your alignment does not make you choose between the 2 def, midfielders....Perry and Wil Akron has had great midfielders ...over the past decade....and you have several of the great ones on your team and to think.....that you sill have outstanding midfielders....like Adam Najem, Anthony Ampaipitakwong, Michael Nanchoff, Victor Souto, Dillon Serna and Aodhan Quinn...available to come of the bench of course, there are a few decent? players to come in off the bench...up top...Jonathan Lewis, Marcel Zajac, David Egbo, Sam Gainford, Stuart Holthusen and the underrated Reinaldo Brenes.

I don't have a twitter account...so it appears that I won't be able to vote

reactions on twitter https://www.massivereport.com/2020/2/1/21117213/wil-trapp-columbus-crew-sc-reactions-inter-miami-mls-2020 the best quote from article: It’s sad, but it’s part of the sport. We were so lucky to have him on our club. He literally is most of us in the stadium, just a kid from Columbus. I know he’s been looking to make that next step in his career for quite some time now and I hope this takes him to that next step overseas. I know the term “class act” gets tossed around in sports quite a bit but he is the bar, in fact the classiest act. He has heart, loves this city, a leader in and out of the locker room, and beyond genuine. I wish him all the best and look forward to seeing all that he accomplishes. We love ya Wil.

I am very optimistic about the Crew in 2020. It would really speak highly of D-Nag's talent and skill.....if he was part of a MLS champ for 3 different teams not to mention CP......being the head coach for 2 different teams https://www.massivereport.com/2020/1/30/21115246/columbus-crew-sc-darlington-nagbe-missing-piece-midfield-wil-trapp-lucas-zelarayan-mls-2020

As they have done for many years, the zips will visit Pittsburgh and the play their USL team in the spring

Many of you will remember Will Meyer from this epic game Ben Lundt- GK for Akron - 110 minutes - no goals allowed Will Meyer - GK for Louisville - 110 minutes - no goals allowed https://gozips.com/news/2017/12/1/mens-soccer-akron-punches-ticket-to-college-cup-edging-louisville-in-penalty-kicks-4-3.aspx

Welcome Will Meyer back to NE Ohio. #2ndStar

They mess up the spelling of Jason's last name ..... but this is a 3.5 minute news feature on Nick Scott and Jason Shokalook
-
I know that I am not Zip_ME87...but Nick looks like an internationals teammate of super 2021 recruit Jason Shokalook
