  1. "We were outplayed all over the field today," Akron head coach Jared Embick commented. "The result was deserved by Northern Illinois. Fortunately for us, everyone in the conference is 1-1 and we have to learn from this and correct it by Wednesday." https://gozips.com/news/2021/3/14/mens-soccer-akron-suffers-setback-at-northern-illinois.aspx

  3. they look as bad as the 3-0 score indicated outhustled to 50/50 balls.... no cohesiveness on passes lazy , sloppy back passes led to first 2 goals... goal keeper error led to 3rd goal really missed Pol Hernandez on left side I will have to look at player stats...but it looked like Pacheco sat for the first 26 minutes of 2nd half no offense today on left side of the field

  16. Federico Serra also had a strong first half. He had a left footed shot off the cross bar about 21 minutes Marco Milanese had a good defensive play around 29 minutes to stop a possible 2 on 1 Serra earned the PK by getting a hand ball call in the box Pacheco is a beast.....if he can stay healthy all year, he could be MAC player of the year... Temple only played 5 minutes....Shokalook only played 11 minutes would like to see more PT for both Temple and Shokalook in 2nd half Pol Hernandez has improved so much during his time at Akron. 20. I had read the Beacon article...the night ...that the game was played. they did not have any quotes from Jared... now, they have quotes...so I will post Brad Bournival...does good work on the articles https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/sports/college/zips/2021/03/02/university-akron-soccer-team-defeats-marshall-2-1-overtime/6888513002/ “It was such an exciting feeling,” Shokalook, an Erie, Pennsylvania, product said. “I can’t even describe the emotions right now. I’m really happy for the team. To get our first win at home, I’m very happy for everyone on the Zips team.” “Normally, when we play these games it’s 7 p.m.,” UA coach Jared Embick said. “We’re just happy to be playing whether it’s 4 or 5. We’re getting a chance to compete and develop the players. We haven’t been able to do that in a long time. I think you’re going to see growing pains with it, but it’s great to be playing again.” “For us, this means everything,” Pacheco said. “It’s what we want to do. Sometimes, it won’t be pretty but at the end of the day if we win that’s all that matters. That’s what happened today.”
  21. someone on twitter pointed that out.... I really like Chad Welker...seems like a great guy...when he interviews Coach Embick.... Chad owned up to the mistake...and admits that he was filling in for the graphics guy
