https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soccer-articles/di-mens-championship-spring-contenders_aid48990 in this premium article (published before their top 25 was released), this is what they wrote about Akron(see writeup below in bold) My comments about their writeup...and some of my comments on where the zips will find production up top...are in non bold below top drawer soccer was very aware.....that David was in the pros. very poor writeup by TDS. They could have written that Jason Shokalook is an incoming freshman that they had ranked as one of the 50 recruits in the country. They also could have written that Akron transfer Tonny Temple (from NC State) was a 4 star Top drawer soccer recruit when he committed to NC State as fknbuflobo and Zip_ME87 have both commented, Akron has the players that can step up at the forward position. I have always been a huge fan of what Diogo Pacheco can do on a soccer field (when he is healthy) The coaches will find the best lineup.....but Diogo feeding passes in from the left side.....to a combination of Jason Shokalook and Tonny Temple.....sounds very promising to me.... I also think that Will Jackson .....will show a lot of improvement from his first year Good wishes to Egg-ie....in Vancouver.....but the cupboard is not bare in Akron AKRON Another side that should be talented and young, Akron is set to start the season without David Egbo, picked up by the Vancouver Whitecaps. Provided that the team can replace his quality up front – and there are options – players like Colin Biros, Daniel Strachan and Carlo Ritaccio give the team a solid spine that will be very competitive. -

We believe that his qualities as a player on and off the field will allow him to fit right in at our club.”

of the 10 new players, Josh Hangi, Paul Jones, Damon Williams, Nick Scott, Jason Shokalook, and Will Meyer were on campus in the fall. Dyson Clapier was supposed to arrive in the fall....but elected to spend time with Portland Timbers 2 in the fall. Akron is known for developing midfielders. It is very nice to get a midfielder from the Timbers academy. Sam Harter had previously been announced as a fall 2021 recruit. Always good to get a talented player in early and he will be available for whatever games are played in the spring. I am really excited to read about Tonny Temple, a transfer from NC State. Getting a former top 50 top drawer soccer recruit....is exciting.... I am looking forward to watching forward Jason Shokalook play for the zips in the spring. Tonny Temple and Jason Shokalook should be an exciting and dangerous pair up front. Embick on Temple – "Tonny is transferring to us after a year at NC state. We tried to get him coming out of high school and are excited he is coming to us now. A winger with pace and power, he is another player that is dangerous every time he has the ball in the final third. He can open up the game for us and makes our attack even more dangerous." was rated by TopDrawerSoccer.com as a four-star forward and the No. 17 forward in the nation as well as ranking No. 43 in the IMG Academy rankings. defender Nate Metsack is a new name to me....I will try to do a little research. finally, thank you to the Akron sports information department and the soccer coaches for sharing this information with the zips soccer fans..... Always exciting to read Coach Embick's comments.
