  4. zips played god awful soccer for 65 minutes. At 65 minutes, they started attacking and playing zips soccer. the first goal was due to tremendous hustle by Ashton Kamdem...followed by a great pass to Shooky For the first 15 ro 20 minutes of the 2nd half, I do not think that the zips had a shot. This would have been an awful loss to lose to a 162 RPI team. Credit to the players for digging deep.....and finding solutions in the last 25 minutes somewhat related....Western Michigan struggled mightily to defeat Chicago State 2-1 on the road Chicago scored 6 minutes and had the lead for almost 39 minutes WMU scored at 44:56 Chicago got red card at 76. WMU scored at 84 to get 2-1 win. Nothing comes easy in soccer.....
  5. Northern Illinois scored on a long distance golazo. NIU had another golazo go off the cross bar Dobrijevic had a nice shot that the keeper had to knock over the cross bar. Zips need to do much better in the 2nd half to get their passes into the box.
  6. looks like it will cost $6.95 for a 24 hour pass...to watch the video stream
  7. Zips come into this game #14 in RPI (ratings as of 2:20 eastern time on Oct 29) .6136 Strength of schedule (SOS) 15 Opponent SOS 43 Tonight's Opponent....NIU is 162 in RPI Chicago State (November 2 opponent) is 203 in RPI (212 teams in RPI) final regular season opponent....Western Michigan ....is #41 in RPI
  8. way too early....to start thinking about that.... Zips need to focus on their next game.... Northern Illinois field is a cow pasture....with very high winds all of the time... Northern played 11 men back at home against a good Western Michigan team and got a 0-0 result. Northern Illinois will play 11 men back and try to use the high winds to their advantage one game at a time for the zips
  9. I am very pleasantly surprised by the change in RPI after this game pre game Akron was #18 in RPI .6031 strength of schedule (SOS) 27 Opponent SOS 30 Cleveland State was 9-2-3 coming into the game their strenght of schedule was 157 their pre game RPI was 67 they had been in the high 40's but they lost to 3-9-1 Northern Kentucky at 9:30 tonight Gaucho Dan live RPI shows the zips at #11 ?! ?! .6172 SOS shows as 17 opponent SOS drops to 42 games in progress right now....probably won't help the zips at 89:54.....Indiana is tied with Evansville at 64:02, Rutgers leads Penn State 2-1 Akron will be hurt in RPI...with the next 2 games against Northern Illinois and Chicago State Akron dropped 6 spots in RPI ...the last time that they played Chicago State
  10. Stefan Dobrijevic and Terence Okoeguale in starting lineup Fitz and Kuzri are not starting
  11. zips best chance came at 11:30 Ashton Kamdem hustled like crazy ran the ball down before it went out of bounds.... Ashton then made a beautiful cross on the ground into the box.... Kingsford could not get his feet right to do a back foot tap in Johnny Fitzgerald had good game finding space....and possessing the ball
  12. 7 shots for zips to 0 for BG only 1 shot on goal zips had heavy wind at their back... zips needed to score....while they had the wind advantage zips had several ong distance straight on shots...but the guys kicked the ball way high wind is super strong.........huge advantage for BG in the 2nd half.......
  13. quotes from WMU coach included in article https://wmubroncos.com/news/2022/10/13/mens-soccer-broncos-fall-to-no-20-akron-1-0.aspx Wiseman - "Overall, I thought the players left everything they had on the field. Akron is a talented team that has beaten many good teams this year, we will need to learn from this match and be better the second time around, later in the season." WMU turned the pressure up in the second half, outshooting the Zips 6-0, but were unable to find the net.

"I love the balance we had with eight different goal scorers. It is always important to get the win on the road and we are pleased with the victory. Now we have to get prepared for a big match against a hot Western Michigan team on Thursday." Nine different Zips posted assists on the evening, including the first career point for freshman Levi Stephens (Akron, Ohio).
  22. I don't begin to completely understand everything that goes into RPI. I was really worried that Chicago State would hurt Akron badly in the RPI. When I looked at RPI when the game was going on, Chicago State was #198 in RPI .....(their record coming into the game was 1-7-3) While the game was going on, below are Akron's numbers RPI ranking #18 strength of schedule (SOS) #22 opponent SOS #15 overall RPI .6047 (this is the percentage that I really don't understand) After the game, here are Akron's numbers RPI ranking #21 SOS #47 opponent SOS #20 overall RPI .5917 as a result of playing Akron, Chicago State RPI improves to #197
