  1. Well of course Bowser came from LA Harbor also, so you'd think this is just a speed bump along the Tonganator Way.
  2. This is what I've also heard pretty consistently for a little while now. As you mention, the new "pub" will be more appropriately sized with a "pub food" menu. The production location is also slated to be "very close" to the new pub, and it will allow them to increase prodution to meet outside demand. They would really like to get into bottling ASAP. The move is expected before October and will hopefully be accomplished with a minimum (roughly a week) down-time.I've also been told that they will be having a beer garden near the corner of Katherine Place and Exchange for Zip game days.
  3. Put "Akron Football Fans" in the search box. Glad to see you're interested, because we need help over there!Or try this linkLink
  4. Perhaps he's been reading CBS message boards Linky
  5. Now HERE'S a guy with a sense of humor!
  6. I tuned in at 9:30 expecting to see it. Then I had to wait until the end of the Chardon-West Geauga HS game to finish. I was half expecting the Info program to be postponed, with the way the post-game show was dragging on and on. I have to agree that the 30 minute Info Infomercial was high quality. I hope it generated some more ticket sales.
  7. So what did he say?As you have no doubt surmised by now, it contained a brief introduction and the Youtube link.
  8. There are no HUGE surprises, but a few things stand out to me.1) The 3-3-5 lives, at least for early depth chart purposes. If you'll note, though, Fobbs is slated as the starting Rover. He's quite a bit bigger than those who have played the position for the Zips in the past. This makes me think we're really going to see a 3-4 or at least portions of it.2) With the Tonganator apparently not ready to go, I really like James Harvey at 6'4", 290 LB starting at DE. If he plays as well as he did last year with the extra 15-20 LB of muscle, then he could be really special playing opposite Mondo.3) I'm a little surprised that of all the true FR who are pushing for PT, WR Meriwether and CB Lartey are the ones who are apparently ahead of the pack (no Greenwood?).4) I like having a skill position guy like Sandilands as the holder. Granted Hildreth saved our butts at EMU last year, but Sandilands provides more options.5) The RB slot has Tuzze backing up AA, but I'm sure this is reflecting those few formations that require a FB. Surely Martin and Devoe will see more carries?6) Shane Shead being listed ahead of Joe Rash was not expected in my eyes. I hope this means that Shane has made significant strides to match his relatively high status as a recruit.7) Dan Marcoux must get tremendous leverage to be where he is at 270 LB.8) I'm NOT surprised that JD is still waiting to name a PK between Branko and Igor. I think this will go down to just before the Penn State game. He may even choose to go with the "hot hand" throughout the year. Or he might choose one for long FG's and one for short FG's.Those are my 1 1/2 cents.
  9. 5-5? Probably 5-7..... JD has had to play more difficult schedules, but there is still to much losing.....with the exception of the MAC Championship game of course. It's hard to argue with that.
  10. I just received an email from Tom, so I'd say he's gotten off to a good start
  11. Great Pontificator, you have a point in 2003. Take away wins over Howard and Cal Poly-SLO and the Zips would have been 5-5. In 2004, the 6-5 record was against all FBC teams. In fact, isn't Morgan St. the first FCS (1-AA) team that JD has played?
  12. USA Today has a mildly interesting column that attempts to define each FBS member's "Golden Years". I sure hope we're quickly entering an era at UA that will quickly replace 2003-2005 as our new Golden Years.USA Today LinkEdit: I thought it was kind of curious that for some programs, they didn't seem to mind going back to 1-AA or lower years. But for UA they didn't seem to consider the years surrounding 1968 or 1976.
  13. No tix here yet, either. BUT I had O'Hoppy on freaking CASK tonight at the OBC!!!! Ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaa!!!
  14. I heard that answer a little differently than you I think. He said (paraphrasing) "I'm not coming into this job thinking about my next job .. it's not how I do things"That was also the gist of what I recall hearing him say.
  15. I think if you read between the lines in the statements made by Turner Gill, that he and Starks have probably gone over that scenario and decided that it was in Starks' best interest to focus on the NFL if and when he's fully healed.Edit: Apparently he was red shirted (non-injury) early on so he's not eligible for the 6th year.
  16. Oh I definitely feel badly for him. He is already a 5th year senior, so his eligibility is gone. His NFL stock is likely to take a hit as well. Hopefully the surgery and rehab will be successful and he'll make it there anyway. And before we totally dismiss UB, they have some pretty good depth at RB. Sure it makes it harder for the new QB Maynard to break in, but most had figured it would be his (Maynard's) play anyway that best determines the Bulls fate this year.
  17. It's true. I just saw this while looking on the UB board.Linky
  18. He's apparently.....
  19. Perhaps he couldn't cope with the LACK of elevation in Akron (despite being the "Summit" and all)........or maybe HIS lack of elevation
  20. B Hip?Closer .. but no.Hmmm the B is what must be close. B Wood?
  21. And just how long is your enlistment, zipseuph?
  22. Who-hoooo!!! Put me in coach after that speech!!! Let's go Zips!!!! Let's go Zips!!!! Let's go Zips!!!! Let's go Zips!!!! Let's go Zips!!!! I do have one comment, however. Do we REALLY want to steal their girls? I'm just sayin'
  23. +1 they did a nice job on some. In fact, Bain might see his and become inspired to join the WWE!I wasn't too happy about the cupcake one, though. THAT might be the one to kick-start the curse
  24. Rasor had some additional bad news on some of the rest of the 2009 class. The biggest concern is that Chris Henderson has not passed through the NCAA Clearinghouse, although the team is appealing.Link
  25. You'll have to check out the comments on that article. It even brought a Golden flush fan out from under a rock.
